Home Hardware was founded in 1963 by approximately 120 independent
hardware dealers coming together to try and fight the "BIG BOX" invasion. Today, there over 1000 Home Hardware, Home Building Centre, and Home Hardware Building Centre dealers across Canada providing you with great prices and expert advice. We are one of the few remaining 100% Canadian Businesses and we operate only in Canada. Each Home Hardware Store is locally owned by a member of your community. All profits stay in your community.

If one more employee there asks if I'm over 55 at check-out I'm going to sue for emotional distress. It's ignorant and rude to be judging people's age, particularly when they are well under 55. Just as it's discriminatory to judge someone based on racism and gender identity, so is ageism. Put a clear sign at your check out counter for those who may want to take advantage of your age categorized discounts, whatever they even are, and stop insulting your customers.

A good size Home Hardware with lots of stock, and some good sales. A few times now I've been there, and though the staff is nice, they're not very helpful, and not very accommodating! I probably won't go there very many more times, as I don't usually leave with all that good of a feeling about it! And I have left this particular Home Hardware store many times, without actually buying anything, because it's just blah!
Pulled in just before closing and while many staff offered to help me find what I was after not once did anyone make me feel rushed or that I was an inconvenience. I was sure to wrap up before 6pm though. Also want to say a huge THANK YOU to allowing us to overnight in our RV in your lot for the night. Especially enjoyed your Welcome signs in the sea of NO signs in the plaza. We purchased $30 worth of sandpaper for a project to help support your establishment specifically and the local economy of Cranbrook. Thank you!
BUYER BEWARE Prices posted are NOT what the till charges!! Even after pointing out the error to staff, I was given the 'oh well, what do you do....' It's plainly obvious to anybody with these two pictures, this is the EXACT item listed on the sticker showing $23.49, not 'misplaced in the wrong pocket' or 'somebody must have changed the stickers on the wood around'. The numbers on the receipt match the sticker. This is charge more than the listed price and hopefully it slides, and a 58% surcharge up to $37.33 to boot!! The prices here have always been a bit high, but you'd like to support the local outfit in tougher times. I left disappointed and feeling like this was my fault somehow.
Great staff very friendly . Good value for the money
I probably would have given 5 stars but I have one big issue that has stopped me for shopping there anymore. They don't seem to care very much for the safety of their customers. Advertising that they didn't care if you wore a mask before any mandates were lifted. Great store great products and good customer service is the reason for 3 stars.

Outstanding customer service from Carolyn ?? sorry I'm not sure I've remembered that correctly who helped me in the paint dept. yesterday. I won't get into the details but there was some miscommunication both parties probably at fault that created a problem which wasn't dealt with very sympathetically at first. She turned things around efficiently and with understanding and thereby saved a sale while also ensuring my continued custom. Great job, well done and thank you.
Allows RVs and Trucks to stay overnight from 6pm to 8am. Have stayed here on multiple occasions, always a few RVs and trucks which always feels like a safer stay. Very quiet traffic noise at night and no cars or people walking around at night. Thanks to Home Hardware for the easy stay on the pass through Cranbrook.
