Homewood Field

Description

Homewood Field is the athletics stadium of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. It was built in 1906 and has an official capacity of 8,500 people. The name is taken, as is that of the entire campus, from the name of the estate of Charles Carroll of Carrollton. It serves as the home field for the university's football, soccer, field hockey and lacrosse teams. It was also the home field for the professional lacrosse team, the Baltimore Bayhawks, for the 2001 and 2003 Major League Lacrosse seasons. It hosted the Division I NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship in 1975, and will be the site for the 2016 Big Ten men's lacrosse tournament. The south grandstand is named for Conrad Gebelein (1884–1981), longtime music director at the university. Homewood Field is located on the northern border of the campus, and it is adjacent to the U.S. Lacrosse Hall of Fame. While known primarily for being the "Yankee Stadium of Lacrosse", its largest record crowd actually filled the stands for a football game. In 1915 on Thanksgiving Day, 13,000 spectators watched Hopkins grind out a 3–0 win over in-state rival University of Maryland. Fletcher Watts ground out the game-winning goal as the last moments ticked down. From then until 1934, the teams met on that day all but two years.

It's not every day when you get to sit at John Hopkins University and watch your son get a Masters degree in artificial intelligence.
Generally good, but hard to get a tennis court. There are only 6 courts. Also, tennis team training schedule is not fully exposed, so I have been kicked out unexpectedly several times.
Nice location, great weather, clean restrooms .
A classic venue for lacrosse. While old, it offers an intimate experience, much better than watching in a stadium intended for large football games. Be prepared, however to pay for parking at city prices $20-30 AND be shuttled to the field or walk the entire way across campus.
As the John Hopkins University 2023 graduation ceremony was held at Homewood, the atmosphere was filled with excitement, joy, and pride. The venuewas grand and beautifully decorated, providing an impressive backdrop for the graduates and their families. The ceremony commenced with speeches from the faculty members, who inspired the graduates with their words of wisdom and encouraged them to face challenges with determination and perseverance. The graduates thenwas beautifully decorated with banners, balloons, and flowers in the university's colors. Graduates were dressed in their academic regalia, eagerly anticipating this momentous occasion. The ceremony began with a procession of faculty, administrators, and graduates. The keynote speaker, a renowned scholar Dr. Panjabi, delivered a thought-provoking speech that left the graduates motivated and inspired. The atmosphere was electric as graduates walked across the stage to receive their diplomas, cheered on by their families, friends, and well-wishers. The pride and happiness on the faces of the graduates and their loved ones were palpable, making for an emotional and memorable moment. The celebrations continued outside, with graduates taking plenty of photographs with their family and friends. The atmosphere of the event was highly celebratory, with a festive spread of food, refreshments, and entertainment. Idiotic security guard made us turn around and climb stairs despite requiring a ramp for disability. They blocked off the ramp so it could be used for moving carts, but made disabled people climb stairs. Shameful
Attended my nieces graduation from John Hopkins University at Homewood Field. Located in a nice clean area.
