We are Larry and Brittney DiBartolo, owners of East Coast Wood Rescue. We came upon this artful business venture through our love of vintage hunting, flea markets, and yard sales.
Turning something with a long standing history into something functional again is our passion. There's a history in the old tobacco barns, family horse stables and so much more that we want to preserve.
We both have professional backgrounds in sales, contracting, and marketing, but we've always had an eye for detail. We compliment each other's talent by having the similar taste and appreciating each other's vision. It's awesome to be able to work side by side with your best friend everyday.
in addition to restoring beautiful pieces, we then decided to take it a step further and began designing furniture using reclaimed and new wood. we give these timeless pieces a new life and new purpose.
Our reclaimed wood has a historic past dating back over 100-200 years. Each piece of solid wood has been salvaged and hand selected from local collapsed barns, garages, and homes with hopes to give it a new purpose in life.
The original raw beauty tells an incredible story through the knots, nail holes, saw marks, and weathering which further enhances the history and character of these pieces. After carefully hand selecting each piece, we go through a process of kiln drying in order to remove moisture from the wood. We then, plane to flatten, smooth, and shape the wood. Lastly we paint or stain before assembling your new custom piece.
We build each piece with quality draftsmanship that will add rustic yet modern charm to any home. Each piece is as unique as you are and custom requests are encouraged and welcome.
