Honig Grill

Upon arrival into the large parking lot, you are trying to get a feeling of the place from the outside. 1st of all, the parking lot was full, to the max. You figure it's a popular place. As you walk in, the bar to the left os vibrant with alot of people talking and drinking. The hostesses were so friendly, including Christine who is so welcoming and likeable. The other hostess seemed a little younger but also very welcoming. She offered to take out coats and we as a group of 9 people accepted. Our table was ready as we made reservations 3 days earlier. The place has a nice vibe, almost California style open. The main dining room was very open and tou can see happy patrons dining and enjoying. Recently, a very good friend told me he dined here and he did not like the place due to bad service. I was a little skeptical coming but willing to try. Well, I am happy to say I'm glad to have dined here. What I can say is Kate, our server, went above and beyond. She was attentative, funny, and made good suggestions. I almost wanted her to sit with us with her sweet personality. She made sure our wine glasses were filled. It's not easy servicing 9 people and she did it with exceptional service. I would return easily as long as Kate would be there. I started with the grilled octopus. It was so tender and flavorful, I offered to everyone at the table and no one was disappointed. Kate made the suggestion. I had the short rub, I was actually leaning towards the Tuna and Kate suggested I try the short rib...wow, another winner for Kate. I also shared it with my dinner guests and they all enjoyed it. My guests ordered an assortment of different entrees. The sushi was fresh, the NY strip was good, and the little clams were very fresh. One of my friends ordered the Bronzino in a fillet style and it hit the spot. I kept tasting the fish which was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Had the Honig wine and Anthology wine and both were very good. I preferred the Honig, but one of my friends preferred the Anthology as long as everyone was happy. Kate finally recommended the bread pudding, and then convinced 2 others from my group. We were stuffed but we took them back to Oheka Castle were we were staying. I enjoyed my bread pudding in my room. Poured the sauce which did not mask the flavor but accentuated it. Let me tell you, after hearing from my friend who had a bad time due to bad service, I was enlightened and called my friend to let him know Kate took good care of us and how much we enjoyed. He said he will try again and ask for Kate to get the better service.

Planned my husband's thirtieth birthday here and I couldn't have asked for anything more. From day one, Christina was nice, helpful and reassuring. They transitioned to Honig Grill after we had booked our party, but I was reassured that everything would go as planned. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, our servers were friendly and helpful and they were accommodating in allowing us to decorate and rearrange the private dining room exactly as we wanted. Several guests commented that the skirt steak was one of the best they've ever had! Would definitely recommend taking a chance on this new addition to Long Island dining.

The sushi was absolutely amazing and the interior and atmosphere is very nice. However, the steak was way over cooked and dry, when you are paying $50+ a steak you would expect it to be cooked to perfection. We also didn't get a side order to the very end of the dinner; which we had to ask for three times. For the price, I wouldn't recommend it.

Great food, great service, beautiful atmosphere. Only problem is my wife ordered a 39 dollar steak the size of my fist. I ordered the ribs and they were great! Offer a raw bar as well but my wife and I didn't have any. Very exspensive but the food was worth it.

Beautiful decor, food is great! We had the kale salad, steak, sushi, oysters, burgers , deserts and more. Everything was perfect! More than anything - service was awesome. If you are lucky, you get Jimmy to take care of you.

Food was great. Was a last minute stop in as we dropped the daughter to her prom. The restaurant is right next door. I was seriously under dressed, but everything was great. Thanks for the swordfish and lamb.

This place is great!! I dined there on Saturday night with my family. Everything was exceptional--the food, the service! The place is great!!! Will definitely be back very soon!!!

Wonderful ambiance for dining and excellent service! The food is prepared with great care and is delicious. We will come back!

This is our second time and the food was as good as the first. The chicken was prepared to perfection and the banana cream pie was to die for.

The service was great. Some of the food was good but I did get sick from one of dishes.
