I work here. Not as a motel person but as a babysitter. So seeing how the owner is so friendly with the costumers wanting a place to rest is awesome. She does a great job of cleaning the rooms and giving directions. I highly suggest coming to stay. Be warned, there are only twelve rooms, maybe less of people are staying there already. But bring a camper! They are one of the only places in town that take RVs and/or campers.
My husband and I have stayed here with our three young daughters for a little over a month while our house is being moved. To start the owners Casondra and Brandon have been great! Extremely nice and accommodating! Our room cozy, homey, and CLEAN! A good kitchen with utensils, dishes, mini fridge and stove. Perfect place to shower and lay your head after a long day, not to mention their prices are almost impossible to pass up. My family and I HIGHLY recommend the Hoover Roundup if you’re just passing through or working in the area for an extended period.
The saying: "If I could give it 0 stars I would!", doesn't apply any better than this place! I booked 2 rooms in mid-November for the local Walden ice fishing tournament in January. I don't own any credit cards, so I had a friend give me his. When I called there were plenty of rooms available. I reserved 2 rooms and asked if the manager could run the card. He suggested if it was multiple people coming to stay to not run the card but to have each person pay upon arrival. I liked his suggestion and gave him the card number just in case. I then called the morning of the tournament to double check that I still had 2 rooms reserved. nobody answered so I left a message to have them call me back. No-one called back, so I called one more time later that afternoon. The same manager stated that he had booked all the rooms out to the oil drillers in town, and that I had never made a reservation. He stated "I do all the book keeping here and I don't make mistakes". Needless to say he made a mistake that would cost 4 of us to not have a room. If you know of this tournament it can bring 400-700 people into this small town. Driving from Ft. Collins which is more than 2 hours away and in January and not having anywhere to stay, is a major issue. I will never attempt to stay at this place again in the future. There was no remorse from the manager or apology for the fact that it was his fault that we were literally out on the streets sleeping in a vehicle in -5 degree weather!!!
The *only* reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars is that the door to my particular room, 7, was extremely flimsy and made a ton of noise when you opened it. Otherwise, rooms were clean, warm, and relatively nice. The staff was courteous, friendly, and professional. A nice and comfortable stay.
Definitely nothing four star about this whole Walden place; however, Brandon and his wife went out of their way to accommodate us at the Roundup Motel. We were a muddy mess on dirt bikes coming off the road in the rain and they welcomed us with a CLEAN ROOM at a REASONABLE RATE. Motorcycle friendly. Owners are very friendly and accommodating. Our room was just a plain room with a small furnished kitchen, two bedrooms, and a hot shower. Just what the doc ordered at the time. Nothing fancy, but certainly served the Walden purpose. Thanks, Brandon, to you and your wife for going above and beyond to oblige us during our stay. You Sir, are a Great American.
This place is very quaint and clean. The room was comfortable and clean. I was working a job in walden and was unable to leave due to weather. The owner Brandon, was very helpful and gave me a room to use until the weather cleared, then gave me a ride to the airport so I could fly home. Great Job.
A little outdated, but definitely worth the price! My friend and I got caught in a storm on our way to steamboat and ended up staying the night in Walden. Thankfully we were directed toward the Roundup. Friendly staff, and the sheets were so comfortable. We ended up really enjoying our evening with everything considered.
Oil field workers this is not the best place for your money. The beds were terrible mice in the rooms and you can hear everything in the next room and outside. The people there seemed friendly at first then when I decided to go elsewhere said they were going to charge me 10$ a towel bc my gf used them to clean her make up and I was accused of smoking in the room which was going to be another 100$ which I did not do and also said I had damaged the table which was obviously damaged by being chewed on. I do get hungry but have never been hungry enough to chew on a table. The rooms are very small and the breaker would trip when the tv and microwave was on at the same time. Never once In 2 weeks was there free coffee. I'm sorry to say it but was not happy with this place. Found larger rooms w kitchen elsewhere for 100$ cheaper a week. Do your research before booking here.
Older place but very nice and really clean. Room was very spacious and shower was hot. Owners were very accommodating and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. Best of all, great rate.
