North Park Community Church is located in Walden, Colorado, in Jackson County.
Nov. 29, 1895, was the beginning of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Walden, Colorado, by Rev. I. F. McKay. The first church building was started in July 1896.
In May of 1939, the union of the Methodist Church and the Methodist Episcopal Church was consummated. It was at that time that Rev. Ray E. Orr made it official to change the name to North Park Community Church. He also wanted to construct a new building, but it couldn't be done at that time.
It was Rev. Walter Brunner, who was instrumental in the construction of the new building, which still stands today. Rev. Brunner conducted opening services of the new North Park Community Church, in Walden Colorado on Oct. 2, 1949. The dedication for the new building was May 18, 1951. At that time, there were 140 members of the church. 90% of the money to build the church came from non-members, the community of North Park, Walden, Colorado.
Bound together by God's Word, we aspire to make His work our highest priority by fostering relationships in Christ through compassionate outreach, Christian fellowship and loving service. 1998
