For the record of everyone bashing the PD for I-295... The sheriff's office handles traffic enforcement along that road, alone. The Police Dept. does not conduct traffic enforcement along that roadway. Also, reckless driving is a class 1 misdemeanor per the state of Virginia, and is not a "additional charge" for speeding as someone mentioned. It's a well known area for enforcement.... Don't speed for the 2 miles you are in it.
Disgusting speed traps along I-95. In the guise of "making the roads safer," you ticket drivers over $300 and put the money in your own pockets. On top of this, you charge a misdemeanor to make yourselves look like you're saviors preventing "reckless driving." It's not like on a major highway there are going to be children crossing the road. DIS-GUSTING. As if long distance travel isn't hard enough.
Hopewell Police Department employees are the community heros. What I like best is their cohesion. Officers in the city of hopewell share a common value with its community, to serve and protect. The truth is race nor ethics are a factor and everyone is treated equal. Police here are more than just uniformed paid.That means they are always on duty.Life as an African American is very peaceful because police in Hopewell interacts with the community and focus on shared values instead of differences. Can you explain to me how two police cars are sitting at railroad crossing and we watch 15 cars go beyond the railroad gate and do u turn some going over the road divider and they still continue to sit and do nothing. So dangerous so sad that something like this goes on. Great tax dollars at work. Wish I could post photos.
All poice officers should be honored and we as citizens should honor them a protect them as we do ourselves.
I large thank you to the Hopewell Police Department, especially to Office I. Perez for his above and beyond the call of duty when my wallet was stolen. Not only did I get it back in a few hours but everything was still in it. Thank You.
The officer I spoke with was courteous and pro active in assistance. She explained what was required, and provided info to comply with code to avoid unnecessary penalty.
All police are helping with the film crew. I dont understand why not one officer was available. Thanks for making me late to class when I was just trying to turn in a wallet I found.
Disgusting use of ticketing to make money rather than actually make roads safer.
Very disappointed with the 295 ticketing process. It seems very unfair
