The Hopewell Police Volunteers operate under the direction of the Hopewell Police Department. Our supervisor is Lt. John Irons. A few of the many tasks we perform include assisting with funeral escorts, community events, and community awareness. We are a volunteer organization with members from a wide variety of backgrounds and ages. We are currently recruiting new members. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, be able to pass a background check, have a clean driving record, and have an interest in giving back to the City of Hopewell. Members are not required to be a resident of Hopewell. Many of the events in which we participate do require standing and walking for extended periods of time in all types of weather, and we work very closely with the public and the police. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact Lt. Irons at 804-541-2222. We will be happy to help you with any questions you have and look forward to meeting you.
