Karen Miceli and Ken Pietrowski established Hops Homestead in the summer of 2016. The Homestead is located in the beautiful Genesee Valley region of western New York, south of Rochester. The couple opened for business with the sale of their hand tied sage smudge sticks.
Karen is a long time resident of Groveland and proud small business owner of ReStore and Birthing Services. She has worked as doula and now a placenta encapsulation specialist in Livingston and Monroe counties. Karen is a certified herbalist and enjoys sharing her knowledge of and passion for alternative medicine with others.
Ken was born and raised in West Seneca. He is the proud small business owner of KW Enterprises. Ken works as an adaptive environments specialist, skilled in home modification and remodeling. He is the inventor of the Pole-Ski Wrap, Snow Shoe Wrap and Koil-Wrap. These products are sold in Made In America Store along with his rescued wood walking sticks and frames. Ken is an avid gardener, growing hops for the past six years. He has a deep appreciation for nature and all living things.
