The hotel was nice but the room had a smell. It was a non-smoking room but it wasn't a cigarette smoke smell. One of the lights in the bathroom didn't work and it could use a bit of updating or remodeling. I've stayed in nicer rooms for less money so maybe my expectations were too high for this hotel. I would stay here again if I found a good deal on the price.
Great experience. Had a blast with my wife. Got a room and spent the night enjoying all the amenities they had to offer. From the table games to the video poker. The restaurant that offered a variety of food to quench any appetite. To the comfortable sleeping arrangements and the above and beyond customer service. As for this parishioners opinion five out of five stars. I will be there again......
I stay here whenever I can because the room value is astronomically good for the price. I have yet to eat at any of the restaurants so I’ll hold off on that review. In terms of casino hotels in Shreveport, it’s hard to find a better place. Rooms: Ultra large, great bed, and great cleanliness.
The hotel room was nice. We got a complimentary upgrade to a suite when we checked-in. All of the staff we talked with were extremely friendly. There is a pizza place that has the best brick oven pizza. The slot machines don't pay out if you are looking to win. We ended up going to another casino to play and won money there. It is a nice hotel but next time I will be staying at a different casino, so I can experience all of them in that area. Food & drinks: Had great brick oven pizza place
We came for a 3 night stay. Casino was ok, machined not paying much, a bit run down. Good restaurants were closed except on weekends. Not a lot of people. Area around the casinos are pretty run down. Not enough to do in the area for a 3 night stay. Rooms need an update for sure.Rooms: 3/5
I wish 0 stars was an option… considering we weren’t even able to stay here! We were basically kicked out with NO HELP & blatant disrespect from the front desk guy. It was 1AM and the room was paid for in advance over the phone with the reservations department. The lady told us there would be a hold on the card we used to pay, but never once mentioned that we would need to present this card at check in with an ID that matches & that person had to physically be there. My husband and I are aware of protocols, however, we were using my mom’s card for our hotel & we did have a picture of her ID. It would’ve been nice if we were told this before we drove 7 hrs to stay here. It also would’ve been nice if the guy at the front desk could’ve offered us options and helped us out, but we were given absolutely no information. We had to ask him if we were going to be refunded and his response was “Yep”. ABSOLUTELY no respect. We had to continue driving an hour to a hotel in TX, while exhausted from driving all day. The hotel in TX saved us and went above and beyond to offer ways for my mom to send in a credit card authorization form + a picture of her ID. It was as simple as that. I guess everything really is bigger + better in TX… employee’s respect toward customers + going above and beyond to help others out goes a long way! I DON’T RECOMMEND HORSESHOE HOTEL AT ALL!!
Booked a room with a Jacuzzi tub. When we checked into our room there was no Jacuzzi tub. We had to wait in said room for four hours to repack our things and move to a different room with one. We then waited two hours for them to bring us a roll out bed. The room we were supposed to have was a double bed room. I had to call the service desk and wait for thirty minutes just to not get an answer after waiting two hours for the roll bed. When the extra bed was finally delivered it didn't come with a pillowa. We were also told kids were allowed to swim. When we got here we were told you have to be 21 and older to go to the swim area because alcohol was served there. This is not a kid friendly place I don't advise anyone to bring their kids. Just to show up to tell me they have no pillows.. so they brought me two towels, two sheets, and a blanket to make pillows out of.. this is just unacceptable.
As someone from the Shreveport-Bossier area I’ve always heard this place was really nice, but I am so disappointed after my stay. The hotel part has definitely gone downhill. The casino part itself is nice and fun with lots of drinks and also restaurants, but the rooms were so bad. They were just gross. The carpet was so sticky in some spots that our shoes would get stuck. There were crumbs and items from the last guests left on the floor. The bathtub was huge and looked so nice.. but had yellow gunk on the rim. It wasn’t staining, it was some sticky liquid that I could wipe off that they obviously didn’t clean. I’ve stayed in beaten up motels off the interstate that had better standards of cleaning than this place. Not worth the price and I would not pay for lodging here again.
Very nice rooms and very friendly staff. My only issue was not winning money in the casino, but sometimes that happens. I've stayed here a few times now and it never disappoints. The only thing I'd like to see is a self-service soda station. I'm almost positive there isn't one here. If I missed it by chance I'll update this review. Thanks.
After returning here multiple times this last time has been a big hassle. We were charge almost $400 for putting the wrong date then turned around still booked a room just to get a room that has been having multiple toilet issues since we got there on 08/08! refrigerator & phone unplugged, and customer service sucks! Had to continue to text constantly for a maintenance to come up to do the toilet just so it can get flushed. Couldn’t even use the bathroom in peace and wasn’t no complimentary, no half off, refund, no nothing been giving nor did they switch us to another room. Some of the staff are okay but some are not. I will not be returning back.
