Hot Spot Hot Pot

About

Hot Spot is our mixture of Chinese hot pot and Japanese Shabu-Shabu with a Korean Flair. We can unofficially refer to it as “Asian-style fondue.”

Description

The Hot Spot offers the restaurant patrons an All-You-Can-Eat Feast for less than most meals in the Fairfax Area. With this style of cooking method, everyone can enjoy cooking their favorite food in our sizzling soup base.

We offer a large variety of fresh food items such as shrimp, mussels, fish, and squid. Our fresh meat selection contains different cuts of beef, pork, lamb, and chicken.

Also included in the buffet are the freshest seasonal vegetables from local farmers, tofu and noodles and much much more.

One of the most important steps in Hot Pot cooking is the dipping sauce. The most common and favorite sauce is the Taiwanese BBQ Sauce. The basic principal for this dipping sauce is to add a variety of condiments to suit one’s taste (green onion, garlic, soy sauce, etc.) in a small bowl and dip your food into the sauce just before eating the food.

For the enjoyment of first timers, it will be our pleasure from attentive staffs to guide you on this very unique way of cooking and eating this style of Hot Pot. Hot Spot is the place where everyone can casually enjoy a scrumptious healthy meal at a reasonable price. Please come and treat yourself with family and friends to our great Hot Pot Restaurant!

We also have a full bar so come relax with a glass of ice cold beer or your favorite cocktail after a hard day of working or on the weekends with your close friends :)

The broth at Hot Spot is noticeably better than most other local hot pot restaurants. It doesn’t taste watered down. The veggies, seafood and meats are always fresh. My only wish is that they had larger portions of veggies and meats. I understand that it’s all you can eat but it’s a hassle to keep calling them over for refills. However, they are very prompt with their refill orders. Their sauce bar is awesome too. You just have to go and try them.
Good atmosphere, good food. Love the innovative cook your own food in a soup concept. Very big menu. Our server Sasha was incredible. Highly recommend you ask for her when you come in to eat
The food is always good. The music is pumping. The vibe is perfect. We were so excited to be back after a rona hiatus, that I forgot to take pics of the food before we dumped it in the pot of broth. It’s my numero uno hot pot place to go to. Staff are friendly, attentive and professional and food is consistently good. Will say the wait time could be long because it’s really popular, so be prepared for a wait if it’s a wknd.
The staff was amazing! It was a crazy night and they were swamped, assuming like it is most nights there, and they handled it amazingly. They were quick to acknowledge us, hostess was polite and clearly very comfortable, waitress was prompt, and once we were seated everything cam out quickly. Eating lower, however, as it was my first experience with hotpot and honestly everything I heard was true. It was boiled meat. I got the mala broth expecting it to be spicy but honestly primarily just tasted the peppercorn. Mild spice at best and everything that went into the broth just was attracted in peppercorn. Received no numbness either. If I ever decide to try again it'll be here because of the staff, but over all an underwhelming experience.
I have been eating here and ordering takeout regularly for the past three years. I have seen the quality of the ingredients fluctuate, but today I had the displeasure of finding very sharp bones in the sliced ribeye. The bones pierced the gums of me and my family, causing bleeding after we ate the ribeye that we expected to be boneless. Appetite killer. I understand this is a rare and unusual occurrence, but it speaks to me about the quality control issues that this establishment faces. To make things worse, THE MANAGER HAD ME DRIVE BACK TO THE RESTAURANT AND BRING THE BONES WITH ME IN ORDER TO PROVE I WASN'T LYING. I expect a better consumer experience from businesses that have sold me something that physically injured me and my loved ones. Honestly, just unacceptable.
Just go. I won’t lie I frequent once a week! Kimchi broth is amazing as is the Tom yum. Sauce bar puts it apart from most to be honest, but I love condiments! We love the ribeye, shaved pork, dumplings and fresh kimchi. Along with great veggies. Great happy hours, management especially Sushan and Ji! they’re so welcoming if it’s your first time, my favorite spot for hot pot!
Sauce bar was good. Meat looked juicy. Seafood tasted great. Vegetable tasted fresh.
We had 5 individual pots and everyone really enjoyed their meal. Meat was fresh, sliced well, tender. Service is prompt throughout the meal, bringing additional meats and veggies and refilling broth. Ma-la broth was great, medium spicy with Szechuan peppercorns, while dropped chilis, and bay leaves or similar. You can tweak your flavors at the sauce bar that has great variety.
Place : Ok Hot Pot : Good & Delicious Staff : Friendly Food: 5/5
Came by here after craving a hot pot/lua and it did not disappoint at all!!! Great customer service/servers. Group of 6, sat at the bar 3 per side; each person gets their choice of broth and an All You Can Eat/Buffet style of meatery/veggies. I ordered the Tom Yum w/ all kind of meats/seafood and veggies. Behind the sitting bar is a sauce bar that allows you to make your own concoction to dip into. Peach soju was also great, smooth and flavored! The sauce bar makes the place, its icing on the top that finishes the meal off. However, the broth could be better seasoned, but then again, the sauce bar compensates well!
