We have a long and proud tradition of service to the hamlet of Houghton, the town of Caneadea, and neighboring communities.
The Houghton Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Service has a long and proud tradition of service to the hamlet of Houghton, the town of Caneadea, and neighboring communities in Allegany County, New York. We are dedicated to providing emergency services of many types to our neighbors in times of need. However, this tradition of service has only been possible through the participation of many dedicated volunteers. We are always seeking those individuals interested in serving their community. We offer a variety of ways to be involved and a number of benefits. Currently, our greatest need is more community members who are willing to serve as EMTs or CFRs, ambulance drivers, and firefighters. We also rely greatly on student EMTs and work to recruit them annually.
