I had an amazing birth experience. Everyone was amazing , one nurse went above and beyond , Tiffany Gossett. She explained everything in great detail about what was happening and why , she even helped me with nursing my newborn , I was having issues and losing confidence . I couldn’t have done it without her!
I could not have possibly had a better birth experience. I was in for 2 days getting induced and 3 after with my baby because she needed extra care so 5 total. I interacted with a lot of staff and wow! Everyone from the cafeteria staff to my doctor's were amazing. The stars of the show were our amazing nurses of course!! Only negative thing is the chaplain there. He let himself into my room, walked around my privacy curtain without permission and made me extremely uncomfortable. Luckily that moment I wasn't breastfeeding, changing or in the shower but unacceptable.
Zero stars. I have lived in Baytown for 23 years, and as long as I have lived here I have heard many horror stories about "San Jac". My husband was a police officer before he retired, and all the officers had a pact that if something happened to one of them, the others wouldn't take him/her to "San Jac to die there", but to a hospital in Houston instead. I have been told that since Houston Methodist took over, they have been trying to change this image. But it's not working. I have a friend who needed a liver transplant. Sometimes his family had no choice but to take him to Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital. EVERY TIME he had to go to this hospital, they messed up the medications he was taking for his liver. The errors were so serious, he could have died. Now, anytime he has an emergency, they try to call a friend like us to take him to a hospital in Houston. I have many stories like that one. But last night was the last straw for me. Last night, my dad had an apparent heart attack and died. My sister went to the hospital to see his body, and told me he was in the ER, room 5. But I got there shortly after the hospital had transported his body down to the morgue, and they would not let me see him! They said their hospital policy says they can't let anyone see their loved ones after they have been transported to the morgue. I said, you don't need to let me in the morgue, just put him on a gurney and let me see him one last time before he is shipped off to be cremated. They said no, once again citing their policy. A policy is not a law, just a rule the hospital puts in place. My dad just died and I will never get to see his face again on this earth because of their stupid policy. Everyone, please, take your loved ones somewhere besides this place.
I would like to add to all the other previous reviews in saying that they would say they were understaffed. When we went in for our scheduled induction, they said they didn't have enough beds or nurses just to tell us that they accepted 4 other people after we had hung up. When they had a room finally open for us, the delivery went smooth enough, but it looked like the nurses were all teaching each other. Even when being discharged, we were not given all the paperwork needed for the newborn baby, like how can you push making the newborn born appointment and not give all the necessary paperwork, which makes no sense. Use this hospital as a LAST resort.
A very clean environment that has been developed to take care of the Houston hospital district overflow of patience. Everything about this place screams professional medical care, but be sure to check with your insurance because they will price gouge you on everything from an ivy bag to an X-ray. My doctor needed my wife to have an x-ray they were going to send us there. We made a few phone calls and found out that. After insurance, they're going to charge us $200. But if I go down the street to a medical imagining place called Jacinto MRI, It's only $50 after insurance.
My son died July 9th in the ER dept. First, let me say he had Cancer only a Miracle would've helped. BUT the ER experience was a tragedy! While a woman sat at the front desk eating, my 39yr. Old son seizured and fell forward out of the wheelchair THEN was wheeled behind the desk to sit there while the determined nurse asked me questions!! When she saw he was grey she told someone give him oxygen, all behind the desk. Then he was taken to the back clearly struggling with his life, they returned him from a test, I looked down and told the nurse he is coding, she looked down and said ohh no he was given Ativan and I said NO he is dying I am a nurse of 36yrs. They then all ran in and started the most chaotic scene of CPR I have ever witnessed, with a few guys laughing and talking, I had to say what are you guys laughing at. My son is gone but shame on Methodist understaffed, overwhelmed and undertrained staff members!
Nurses at the emergency room front desk are rude. People come here for help not to treated in an ugly manner. Seriously need better bedside manners and patient interaction. The wait is ridiculous. The amount of time it took to be called for simple urine, I could’ve driven to Texas Women’s.
This hospital may put you in bankruptcy I went blood pressure was real high Put me in a room. EKG put me on a drip released me 3 hrs later with 30 day supply of BP pills. Charged me $10k And are fighting giving me a bill breakdown on all charges. Stay away if possible. And my insurance is good
If I could give negative stars I would!! I came for treatment about 2 years ago and the experience was horrific. I have doctors giving me food with wrong name, asked to call my family but couldn’t, would not let me sleep, told me “I stank and die already”. I would never think in my whole life people could be so cruel especially doctors who signed up to help you . Something needs to be done about this
My dad was in the hospital about two weeks ago due to high blood pressure and a headache. His nurse Anne was very kind, compassionate and caring at all times. She went above and beyond during the discharge process. Thank you very much.
