We are a locally owned and operated full-service jeweler offering a unique selection of jewelry, watches, and fine giftware.

Description

Hudson-Poole Jewelers is a member of the Preferred Jewelers International, American Gem Society, Retail Jewelers of America, and the Alabama Jewelers Association. We carry a vast selection of diamond and gemstone jewelry, watches, engagement and wedding rings, and fashion jewelry. Our great staff are experts at custom design and using our customers diamonds and gemstones that they own or have been passed down. We also carry fine giftware including crystal, silver, china, and decorative pieces for the home. Bridal registry is available in-store and online, and complimentary gift-wrapping and delivery services are available as well.

Our repair services include free jewelry cleanings and inspections, ring sizing, engraving, watch battery replacement, water resistance pressure testing for watches, eyeglasses and sunglasses repair, replacement of missing or damaged gemstones, jewelry design and customization, pearl stringing, and much more.

My family and I have shopped at Hudson-Poole for decades. Poodgie, John, Krista and other employees greet you with a smile when you enter the store, and they are ready to assist with your needs. When it comes to fine jewelry, their selections are superb for finding just the right gift for others or for yourself! Whether for bridal registries, baby gifts, graduation, birthdays, Christmas gifts or whatever the occasion, Hudson-Poole has it. Additionally, they have a special knack for designing jewelry if you have heirloom pieces that need updating. You can count on repairs being done right the first time and completed in a timely manner. I took in my mother's Seiko watch with a broken crystal and a watch band in 3 pieces. The watch was sent out for repair and came back fixed. My mom passed away recently so the watch is a nice reminder of her to wear. Sentimental value is sometimes more important than monetary value. Hudson-Poole is a very nice jewelry store that I highly recommend. Friendly and very good customer service. You cannot ask for more.
During the pandemic I arranged purchase of earrings for my neice through Mr. John Poole and it was a wonderfully easy and convenient process. We did contactless. He sent me several pictures of earrings based on my description of what I was looking to purchase. I was notified when my choice came in to drop by and view them to approve the purchase and Hudson-Poole gift wrapped and mailed them out for me. My niece was over the moon with her new, beautiful earrings. I received personalized attention and great customer service and all at my comfort level with pandemic safety concerns on my mind. Thank you!

Hudson-Poole has been the ONLY place where I go for all my jewelry needs. I am now a 3rd generation customer! Poodgie and John are like part of the family. I will never consider using another retailer. Even with living 2 hours away they are who I continue to use and love to stop in and say Hello when in Tuscaloosa. I have too many good things to say about Hudson Poole & their staff. They have been absolutely fantastic to work with when creating and managing my wedding registry as well as picking out our wedding bands. Whether it is Heather, Krista, or anyone else on staff they go above and beyond every time I walk in.

We took two pieces of jewelry to Hudson- Poole for an appraisal. I spoke to someone in May to have them notify me of the date that the appraiser would be in. Not one time did he mention that it would be $150.00 for me to have them appraised. I have a jeweler in Birmingham who customized my engagement ring that would have been happy to appraise them for me at no cost. Since I live in Tuscaloosa, I figured I would just take it somewhere local that was recommended by a doctor that I work for. After picking up my pieces of Jewelry, they charged me $150.00. Out of the three employees that I spoke to to set up the appointment, confirm and to check in my items, not one mentioned a charge. I called the store after my fiancé picked up the jewelry and spoke to the manager who continued to make excuses for his employees. He also mentioned that they typically collect the fees before the appraisal is done so it was "odd" that they didn't. I'd understand if maybe one employee forgot to mention it, but THREE employees... not a single one ever mentioned a charge. He made zero attempt to correct the situation, which only further frustrated me. I just couldn't imagine providing a service and making no mention of the charges for the service and then not correcting the situation when your employees "failed to mention" the charge. I would lose my job if I did that. Absolutely would never in my life recommend this place to anyone. They can't keep their story straight. Definitely not a company I would trust handling anything valuable.
I was blown away by the customer service at Hudson-Poole. We came in to look at engagement rings on a Saturday about 30 minutes from closing, and the staff were incredible. I told them what I liked and my budget and they were able to help us find ones that fit what we wanted. The store is immaculate, and you can tell they truly want each customer to have a great and personalized experience. They were never pushy or looking to push us past our price point at all. Incredibly patient and just a fantastic experience all around. Highly recommend!!!
