The museum is free through the Library but you have to pay for the planetarium. The museum is very small. The planetarium is small and the seats are not very comfortable. It is informative but could be more interesting. Some activities are set for kids to explore for free. Overall if you are looking for a slow and relaxed afternoon you can go here.
Really great special exhibitions, and I’ll definitely be back to visit the Glenview house. Perched over the river, there’s a lovely little garden and two large gallery spaces to explore. Empty on a weekday afternoon in summer.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
Gorgeous museum with something for everyone. There are oil paintings, modern art, historical pieces and several kid-friendly sections including a planetarium. A lovely, grassy courtyard with some chairs is a great spot to get some fresh air and eat food you brought. There's no cafe on site, though some snacks and drinks are sold in the gift shop. There are also tours of the antique mansion next door to the main museum building. Can't recommend this place enough.
Lovely local museum. We went on a family fun day, my kids enjoyed the various art with recycled materials. They especially loved the current exhibition with hula hoops. Will return to try a planetarium show and walk the grounds.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
I came to this museum before covid and I got enter by free with bank of America card but I came again and the general admission is free but I have to pay for the planetarium and entering the mansion itself. But I must confess it's worth it since I enjoyed every part of the museumVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$21–30
Love it! It’s a small museum beautiful museum with a planetarium. We watched The sky tonight at 2pm, enjoyed the family art workshop, and sat outside for awhile. It was the perfect way to spend our Saturday afternoonVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$11–15
This little gem modern art museum has outstanding work by both famous and little known artists. The "Book store" installation by Red Grooms alone is worth flying in from Paris to see.
I mean, a museum my nine-year-olds didn't mind coming back to ... the Planetarium, the eclectic art collection, the activity rooms, the garden with motor-skill-enhancing activities i.e. cornhole, and sweeping views of the Jersey Palisades as you enter and exit. 5Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$11–15
On a lazy Saturday afternoon, we decided to check out the planetarium. We arrived 15 minutes before the 2 pm show which gave us enough time to look at part of the old projector which was on display outside the room. Very cool. The gentleman who ran the show had the perfect voice for the show. His voice sounded soothing and made me feel the awe and majesty of what we were looking at. I loved the bits of humor that was also part of the show. It was a very interesting show, and the host gave us a lot of time to ask questions at the end of the show. After the planetarium, we went through the galleries to see the artwork on display. Magnificent! The lower level of the Hudson River walk display was closed when we went. I do not know if that was just for that day or the display was permanently closed. I hope they reopen it because I have always enjoyed that feature of the museum. The manor house was was unfortunately closed, we were not able to purchase tickets to take a tour of the house. I highly recommend checking out the house tour at Christmas time to see the decorations, every room has a Christmas tree with a different theme, and the best doll house a detailed replica of the house on display. There is an outdoor space just before the front door of the house where you can relax on chairs and tables. I saw games like hula hoops, Jenga and badminton rackets in that area so I will assume that one is allowed to frolic on the lush grass without any issues from security personnel. The staff was friendly, the gift shop was stocked with fun items. These is also a studio space for classes and there are brochures which list the events held at the museum. I would highly recommend a visit and I am proud to have this museum in my neighborhood.
It's always fun to check out. The Exhibits over there change every so often. There are plenty of workshops for the kids to have fun on the weekends. The Planetarium shows never fail to deliver.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
