Hungry Hobo is a great place for a quick sub. The bread is made fresh and super soft. The grilled cheese and tomato soup is my absolute favorite. It's definitely a winner in my book.Food: 5/5
Hadn't seen one these restaurants in a long time. We had to try it. Food was good. Lots of sides to choose from. Glad we stopped for a sandwich.Food: 4/5
Was a nice clean place to eat wish Dubuque had one
Food was good.. they were pretty slow and it took a while to get fries after my sandwich came.. but it was all around pretty good.Food: 5/5
Hungry Hobo used to be Little Kings when I was a teenager in Rock Island. Everytime I go back to the Quad Cities I eat at Hungry Hobo at least once a day usually lunch. No one can compare! They are better than Subway, Fireside, Jimmy John's etc. etc. Their bread is the best and you get great value for your $. Vegetarian options: All veggies are available. Parking: In Le Claire, Iowa there are ample parking places and it's right off the Mississippi River...beautiful views. Kid-friendliness: Mostly booths and there is separation so other diners aren't disturbed by kids being kids. Wheelchair accessibility: Complies with the ADA.
Always slow but the food is usually good. Not anymore I guess. The cheese curds and fries were really badly overcooked and really bad. The king taco salad seemed just as big and the regular size and was full of mostly only lettuce. Not worth the usual 20 min wait in the drive thru.
I love hungry hobo but I’m fed up with them. Food has been hit or miss, constantly get tomatoes when I request no tomatoes, dining room is never open, hours change constantly. Says they are open till 7pm today, went at 4:30 and sat at the drive thru for several minutes. Finally went to the front door, no lights, no workers and no sign they were closed. This will be my last visit…
Absolutely awful. Very poor customer service. never know from one day to the next, if the dinning room will be open. They will make no accommodations for truck drivers, when dining room is closed. You have to park your truck out front, and walk in, only to be told you can only order on the app, and must go to the drive thru to pick it up. . Extremely rude when you walk in the door as well. Will never go to this establishment again, and will advise all my driver friends to do the same. Shame on you!
As always, the food was very good much better option than Subway. The employees are always very friendly. The best part about this Hungry Hobo is the very generous owner who really cares about his community. Because of the welcoming atmosphere he has created within his restaurant, not only will I continue to be a loyal customer, but I will share my experience here with the many families in this community I am connected to. Thanks for embodying the “we’re all in this together” mentality during this pandemic. Your community members appreciate you and will continue to support your business!
One of the best sandwich places hands down! They have the softest bread and they make it fresh. They make your sandwich to order. They may not have the extra toppings that some of the other places have, but these guys are the original of the Quad Cities. You can't get grilled steak at JJ or Sub.
