The Town of Huntersville is the 46th fastest growing suburb in the United States and the 19th largest city in the state of North Carolina. With a town population of just over 50,000. Huntersville is made up of over 63 square miles of land and borders the city of Charlotte, Lake Norman and Mountain Island Lake.
The Huntersville Fire Department operates 3 fire stations (Station 4 is under construction) for the Town of Huntersville and is a ‘combination fire department’ made up of paid staffing supplemented by volunteer members. Paid staff coverage for each station is 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Presently the department has 71 Firefighters, 12 Officers and 5 Chiefs. The department has 6 Engine Companies, 2 Ladder Companies, 1 Heavy Rescue, 2 Tankers, 4 Brush Trucks, 3 Utility Trucks, 2 boats, 2 Duty Officer vehicles and 1 training van. The department responds to all fires, fire alarms, motor vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, water craft emergencies and serious rescue incidents in the town of Huntersville or in accordance with our mutual aid agreements with the surrounding communities.
