CCVFD is a Volunteer Fire / Rescue Department in North Carolina
Cooks Community Volunteer Fire/Rescue has served the Shuffletown area since the 1950's. As Charlotte has expanded throughout Mecklenburg County we have been fortunate to still be able to serve our community in conjunction with Charlotte Fire Department.
Our primary response area extends from the Catawba River on HWY 27 and along Mt. Holly-Huntersville Rd. when going East-to-West. North-to-South we serve Mountain Island Lake, South on HWY 16 and down Pleasant Grove Rd.
CCVFD's membership consists of firefighters, EMTs, as well as a SCUBA dive team to respond to calls on the lake.
As of August 2011 we have the following apparatus:
Engine 1
Engine 2
Rescue 12
Brush 6
Boat1
Boat2
We also are proud to assist Long Creek VFD and West Mecklenburg VFD here in Mecklenburg County. We also will run into Gaston County to assist Mount Holly Fire, and Lucia Riverbend VFD.
In some special circumstances our apparatus will travel away from our area. For example, tanker support, and dive-team support.
