Hyatt Place Blacksburg/University

We stayed here a few weekends ago and it's one of the best Hyatt Place hotels we've stayed at. I left Hilton Honors earlier this year and I haven't looked back. Between sports and travel, we've stayed at at least 10 Hyatt's this year. This one is exceptional for a Hyatt Place. It's fairly new and right in the middle of the action in Blacksburg. For the holidays, it was tastefully decorated. My favorite part was breakfast. Hyatt is known for their breakfast but this one was impressive. Mainly because the eggs were light and fluffy, sausage perfectly cooked and I loved all of the fresh fruit options. I try to avoid gluten by choice and when breakfast is free, most hotels bombard you with bread/muffin options and a waffle bar. I was so pleased at all of our choices for breakfast. We are coming back in the Spring.

Very nice clean rooms. Convenient location with plenty of restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast was fresh every day and starts plenty early. Only complaint is the noise from the garbage trucks every morning around 4 to 6 am, wish I had a noise machine to get a little extra sleepRooms: 5/5

This hotel at the edge of the Virginia Tech campus provided plenty of space in the rooms, which were quite nice. They helpfully provided me with a toothbrush. Their bar is small and not great. Still, it's a great hotel given the price.Rooms: 5/5

Just passed through for one night on a road trip. Got in late. Concierge was really welcoming. Room was very clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was perfectly standard and the food was fresh. No complaints. 5 stars.Rooms: 5/5

Great stay. Clean, well laid out rooms, and plenty of amenities. Staff was very friendly. Many restaurants adjacent to the property.Rooms: 5/5

Disappointed—very surprised Hyatt would put guests in a room with a window that’s 7 feet from the very noisy HVAC system for the entire hotel see photo. Note too the extensive accumulation of mold likely being sucked into that HVAC system. Come on Hyatt!

Across the street from VA Tech and surrounded by food options. We chose a room with 2 queens. My boys appreciated the pull out bed in the couch so they didn’t have to sleep together! Breakfast had hot and cold options. I worked out in the morning and found the workout room clean and with your normal hotel selection. I appreciated how the lobby had smaller sitting areas if you needed to get out of your room. We’ll definitely choose this hotel again if we’re in town.

These great reviews must be fake. This was the noisiest place I have ever been in. Firetruck sirens and ambulances running the entire night. Room was super tiny. Worst location for a hotel.Rooms: 1/5
