Being from California Hawaiian BBQ is a thing!! I've been search for an authentic experience and this restaurant has it . Good prices , portions and food was very delicious. Be careful ordering the wings especially if you don't like big pieces of chicken. The sauce was tasty on the Island Chicken Wingz appetizers . Overall, good dine in experience with good company.
TLDR: food came super late, tasted okay I met my brother and sister-in-law here for lunch. They ordered 15 minutes before I did. I got my food about 20 minutes after I ordered, which is a bit long, but my brother and his wife hadn't gotten their food yet, so I pointed this out to the server. She said it would be right out. Another 10 minutes pass and my brother goes up and asks about his food, they tell him it'll be right out. It's now been 45 minutes since they ordered. We watch the last group that was in the store when I came in 15 minutes late leave. We've been watching the food window this whole time and now the employees finally begin searching for our missing food. Nearly an hour from the time my brother ordered, his food finally makes it to our table. I'm almost done eating by this point. All we got was a "sorry it's a bit late". Was the hour-long wait a fluke? Maybe. Honestly I'm most annoyed we didn't get a proper apology. I mean, a bit late? We were there for an hour before they got their food. The food itself wasn't bad, it was about what we expected from a fast food place with delusions of grandeur. Nothing special, but not bad.
This place is a gem! Tried it while running errands in the area and was blown away. Had no idea it was Guy Fieri certified and now we know why! The food is big comfort and consistently delicious. Recommend the coconut shrimp/teriyaki chicken with mac salad.
Found this place based on Guy Fieri’s recommendation. We ordered Kalbi plate, manapua and spam musubi. They were all big portions and tasty.
We, four of us, ordered Manapua. Then Kalbi Short Ribs, and Bulkogi and Chicken katsu. Plus Char siu won ton saimin, which is a noodle soup.
Aloha is in my top 5 best restaurants in Arizona and beyond. The vibe is always very good, and the food has been absolutely unwaveringly consistently awesome since I started eating here 12 years ago. I have actually had even better experiences in recent years - bigger portions and better meats! The menu is vast and all options are delicious. The macaroni salad is the best I’ve ever eaten, and I always get a second scoop when I eat there.
The Teriyaki chicken was not dry. Rice was a little more wet than "sticky" but most like i remembered - although haven't lived un Hawaii in over 30 years. Definitely recommended though.
Being new to the area, I look to try different Hawaiian food places. First time I visited the establishment for lunch and ordered the mix plate #2. Flavor of everything was ok, but what was concerning was the undercooked chicken Katsu. This was a to-go order so I didn’t see it till I got home. Hopefully this was a rare incident. May try something different next time.
Love this place. Anytime we are in Chandler and we're hungry this place is always a great choice. From the Kailua pig to the teriyaki salmon, the food is always fresh and well prepared
Usually we'd give Aloha Kitchen 5 stars for a great local place with delicious food, always served piping hot. Alas dining on Sunday late afternoon was anything but...the teens running the place were clearly ready to go home. Our favorite dish of the short ribs was not available, all sold out we were told. And honestly, we should have left then and come back another day. But we ordered a different dish instead. All the while a fellow teen friends were chatting at the counter the entire 45 min we were in the dining room, I felt like I was in a high school cafeteria with the rumbling of teen chatter. We ordered around 4:20 pm and thought that was enough time to enjoy a dine in dinner before the closing time of 5 pm. But our food took 20+ minutes to be served and was presented in to-go containers, the first hint that they wanted out to leave. We started eating our luke warm food - unlike the usual serving temp of fresh from the kitchen served as your dish was ready - amid the teens putting the chairs on the tables, turning off the open sign, and generally cleaning up. We took the not so subtle hint and left to come home and heat up our food. We'll certainly try one of our favorite local places again, as frequent visitors to the island see our college student at UH, we enjoy a delicious plate lunch and know that Aloha Kitchen is typically as good as described in the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives show. In the meantime, our advice to the owners/managers is implement a more professional front of house policy with the teens running the show and for diners, don't show up for dine in within an hour of closing time.
