Care Beyond What Money Can Buy.
Darwin Deason was born the son of an Arkansas farmer, turned self-made billionaire as the founder of Fortune 500 company “ACS”, which he later sold to Xerox for 6.4 billion dollars. Darwin, a powerful leader and man of tremendous success, found nothing to be outside of his reach until his youngest son David Deason was stricken with multiple life threatening and disabling health crisis’. After liver failure and kidney failure, David also suffered a massive stroke, leaving him severely impaired. Fortunately Darwin was able to afford the absolute best medical care available...but unfortunately...he found that even the best rehabilitation centers fell short of meeting his son David’s need for care. As a result, David, a husband a nd father of 5 children, had lost all hope and desire to recover and resigned himself to a mere existence, sitting and watching life pass him by. Darwin broken by the sight of his son having given up, knowing that his money had failed to find his son hope, reached out to close friend and health and wellness icon Larry North asking for help. Larry, having a love and concern for David like a brother, reached out to life long rehabilitation, health and wellness experts, and close friends, Tad and Gina Tomaseski DPT, asking if they could please help David. Darwin watched his son transform physically, mentally and emotionally as Tad and Gina cared for David. Darwin was so deeply touched, having seen such a powerful change in his son, like no other rehabilitation experts were able to offer, because two people cared like he had never seen before, that he wanted to make this available to all. Darwin, and his son David...now inspired to live life again...partnered with Tad and Gina to form icare Rehabilitation Hospital and Physical Medicine Center (a first class 41 bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital, state of the art outpatient center, and physical medicine clinic with Regenerative Medicine and Rehabilitation Physicians), to offer the DFW metroplex a new kind of care... a new level of care... a team of professionals that truly care... icare Rehabilitation was born.
David Deason can now be seen at icare “living life again” as he heads his P.A.L. Program (Patient Advocacy Liaison). The P.A.L. Program consists of other people like David that have been through extensive Rehabilitation themselves. Together, David and his P.A.L. leaders, keep our clinical team in tune with the deeper needs of patients, that extend beyond clinical care, which many times are missed by clinicians. As David says “At icare, every patient has a P.A.L.”
