It is the philosophy of Idaho Falls Group Homes, Inc. that opportunities to learn and develop must be available to every developmentally disabled individual. Each individual must be provided with the chance to develop and maintain behaviors and characteristics that are as culturally normative as possible, utilizing means that are available to all residents of a community.
Through a structured teaching environment with the utilization of direct instruction and individualized treatment it is the goal to teach each client functional skills so that the individual can participate in less restrictive environments. Treatment is designed to be referenced to current and future living demands to enhance physical and social integration of the individual.
We recognize the importance of parent or surrogate involvement in planning for the treatment of the client. It is our goal to support open and honest communication between parents or surrogates and the program staff and to encourage client-parent contact.
