Our organization educates, organizes, and supports students to ensure that a new generation of advocates will be prepared to protect and expand reproductive rights as basic civil and human rights.
If/When/How trains, networks, and mobilizes law students and legal professionals to work within and beyond the legal system to champion reproductive justice. In collaboration with communities, organizations, and movements, we work to ensure all people--especially those most likely to experience reproductive injustice--have the ability to decide if, when, and how to create and sustain a family. The UC Hastings Chapter holds events on topical reproductive justice issues throughout the school year.
This summer, Law Students for Reproductive Justice, the national network we’re a part of, changed its name to If/When/How. After more than a decade of supporting students to become stronger champions of reproductive justice in law school, If/When/How is expanding its focus to engage law students and legal professionals. We know we won’t stop caring about reproductive justice once we’ve left school. And now, as we look toward becoming legal professionals, we’ll be able to access training, networking, and advocacy opportunities that will help us put our passion and skills to work for reproductive justice throughout our careers.
If/When/How also changed its name to make sure our mission was heard loud and clear: to fight to ensure all people can decide if, when, and how to create and sustain families with dignity—free from discrimination, coercion, or violence.
