IHC Bountiful Clinic

Went in with my daughter-suspected strep throat. Sat in the waiting room for 2 hours. Sat in a room for over an hour, nurse came in aggressively swabbed my daughter throat. Never came back in. Waited for doctor for over an hour just for him to say we will swab her throat and if it’s positive send prescription. He never looked at her hardly said anything to us then left. I had to find a nurse in the hallway and ask if the test was positive and where they had sent medication for me to pick up. Was making payments every month on the bill $500 total-paid $100 EVERY MONTH, never missed a payment. Sent me to collection 3 days before I made my final payment of $100. This is by far THE WORST place I have ever had to deal with.

Ashely Kernan and her assistant Alexis are absolutely amazing. I was in a car accident. She got me in the very next morning my head was killing me and she did everything to try to make me comfortable. Most doctors wouldn’t even get you in the next day I have never had a bad experience with her. She’s always been absolutely amazing, you can tell she truly cares about her patients which is really rare to find these days. I am so thankful that she is my doctor. I cannot say enough good things about her and her assistant is amazing too. She knew I had a headache and when I had to come back, make sure to get me in the room so I didn’t have to hear children screaming. I was so tired and in pain I was so thankful for that just doing those extra things makes all the difference they are both truly amazing people.

When my OBGYN retired I was so nervous to find a new one especially since I loved my old one so much, but I have absolutely loved Dr. Doctor! She explains everything very well and makes sure that I’m always comfortable! Not only is she professional, but she remembers little details about me and it makes me feel good coming back here! I’m happy to say that I found an even better OBGYN than before:

The staff is friendly, but this is the least organized office I have ever been to. It took them 3 weeks to order 2 prescriptions for me, and when I finally got them they were wrong. They lost 2 faxes, failed to tell me that my insurance was not accepted, and did not cancel an appointment after I called them to cancel it.

Absolutely horrendous and rude customer service. I called to figure out some issues recently and the receptionist was hostile and standoffish with an attitude while I was trying to remain calm. This is NOT the first time either. Almost every time I go or call this clinic, they are not helpful but instead acting like I am burdening them by asking them to do their job. I have been calling for weeks and it seems that no one has any idea what it is I am asking them to figure out.

Dr. Ashley Kernan is the BEST doctor! She's very understanding and listens to my concerns. She takes time with me to help me understand my health issues. She is quick to email me back if I have a question. I really appreciate that! The family medicine clinic is amazing! I’ve never had to wait more than a few minutes when I arrive for my appointment. Alexis, the medical nurse, is the greatest and so helpful! Carlee, the receptionist is fantastic! I highly recommend this office! I am so grateful for the care I receive!

I go to this clinic for podiatry. Dr. Anna Hronek is in my opinion the best podiatrist along the Wasatch Front. She does wound care and is a limb preservationist. She has a great staff that checks you in, prepares you to be seen, and then Dr. Hronek is thorough, interacts with you to make sure all of your questions are answered, and once done leaves you educated and prepared until your next appointment. Great experience, start to finish.

My family and I have been going to the IHC Bountiful Clinic for years and have seen both general practitioners and specialists. We have had a consistently excellent experience from the health care providers, lab technicians, and front desk staff. I would recommend IHC and the IHC Bountiful Clinic to anyone.

GO TO THE U OF U OR DIFFERENT PROVIDER THAT ACTUALLY HAS COMPASSION FOR THEIR PATIENTS. Holly at the front desk is incompetent and has the worst attitude I’ve ever encountered and should never work with patients, or in IHC terms… customers. I sat here for 2 hours just to be told I couldn’t be treated in urgent care and I’d have to wait days for an ultrasound and told to do possibly detrimental exercises on my muscle that is likely torn but they refuse to look at because I didn’t receive this injury from a traumatic event so it must not matter as much. Why are you giving me a “health plan” if you don’t even know my diagnosis? Why was I not recommended to be seen elsewhere with better resources upon checking in IF YOU KNOW YOU CANNOT PROVIDE CARE FOR MY INJURY? When I asked for an administrator they kept on telling me “We likely don’t have one on site. We can have them call you.” Then one magically appears out of nowhere and resolved nothing as well and told me to call a number. I’ve worked in healthcare and would NEVER treat a patient the way the front desk, doctor who loved rolling her eyes and “administrator” treated me. So much gaslighting and manipulation for people who “care” about your physical and mental health. Sadly this is why I’ve avoided this establishment for years and dreaded my health insurance changing because now it is now out-of-network at the U of U, where they genuinely care about who they treat. IHC JUST WANTS YOUR MONEY.

My daughter has a severe fear of needles. She needed 13 vials of blood drawn and was super anxious. Bree was amazing, she totally got it and made the whole experience as easy and smooth as possible. She was exactly what we needed. I didn’t catch other names, but all the other people that helped or we spoke to were great too.
