Incline Gallery is an alternative art space that fosters relationships between community and artists. We create opportunities for emerging as well as established artists to exhibit in a non-cube format that challenges and encourages experimentation in exhibition design. Our role continues to expand by facilitating outside curators, international exchanges and partnerships within a community based organization.

Suggesting a trek down an alley in the heart of the Mission may sound like mean-spirited tourist advice, but turn down this one and you’ll discover a surprising treat – the Incline Gallery. Tucked between a bike shop and The Summit SF coffee shop, the Incline Gallery is so named because the exhibition space is spread vertically up a ramp that crisscrosses the building and makes for a wonderful wander. The exhibitions are thoughtfully curated and the shows I’ve seen have been humorous, thought-provoking and inventive - and you thought Mission alleys were only about murals.
