SATELLITE OF. LOVE is dedicated to supporting some of the incredible local artists whose work we believe needs to be more widely known, and more easily collected. Located on Valencia Street in the heart of the Mission District in San Francisco, our small space offers work by over a dozen artists—representing a range of mediums and styles.
What’s in our space is just the tip of the iceberg. We facilitate visits to artists’ studios where collectors can see more work, meet the artist, and participate in the open dialogue unique to the Bay Area arts scene.
The Team
SATELLITE OF. LOVE is a project of SOL Arts, a collaboration between gallerist/curator Theodora Mauro and arts advocate/curator Tracy Wheeler.
Theodora Mauro is director of ampersand international arts, the first gallery in the Dogpatch neighborhood. ampersand has been a pioneer in supporting artists, local and international, emerging and mid-career, with a platform for communication and conversation that is open, unique and inspirational.
Tracy Wheeler is a regular curator at ampersand international arts, was president of the board of Southern Exposure, and is an advocate for the artists and small arts spaces that contribute to the creative anarchy of the Bay Area.
