Independence High School is a 9-12 public high school in Thompson's Station, Tennessee.HistoryThe school opened in 2004, initially with only a freshman and sophomore class. The junior class was added in the second year and the senior class in the third. The first class of seniors graduated on May 26, 2007. The second class, which was the first to complete all 4 years at Independence, graduated May 24, 2008. The school once had approximately 2000 students, but after the creation of nearby high schools, student enrollment has decreased significantly.AdministrationMarilyn Webb was the first principal of Independence High from 2004 to 2008. She was replaced by Todd Campbell the summer of 2008. He is currently accompanied by four assistant principals.AthleticsIndependence High School is a member of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association, the governing body of Tennessee high school athletics, and competes in all TSSAA sponsored sports: baseball, basketball, bowling, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track & field, volleyball, and wrestling.Additionally, IHS competes in several non-TSSAA club sports: hockey, ultimate frisbee, lacrosse, rugby, and swimming. Several of these club sports are joint ventures with other nearby schools.In 2008 Independence received its first team State Championship when the volleyball team defeated Brentwood High in the state tournament.ActivitiesForensicsThe speech and debate team is in both the National Forensic League and the Tennessee High School Speech and Drama League. They compete throughout Tennessee and consistently place in the State Championship tournament in a variety of events. The team successfully qualified students for the National Forensic League national competition in both 2009 and 2011. Independence Debate made its debut on the national debate circuit in January 2012 at Emory University's Barkley Forum.

I mean it's ok. Some of the teachers probably shouldn't be working there since they act like they hate their job so much. A lot of them are way too detention happy. They give out detentions for the dumbest reasons. They honestly pile way too much work on the kids. Other than that it's all good. Shoutout to Mr. Meeks and Miss Robinson for being awesome teachers and actually caring about students learning.
Indy is a wonderful school, all of my freshman classes are super easy but the thing is that some of the sophomores threatened me over social media. Which I have not shown to anybody. But if they continue, I will turn them over to the principal period. AND THEY ALSO BLAMED ME FOR THREATENING THEM BULL CRAP.
Class of 2014. AP and Honors courses prepared me well for college. More support could have been provided to me by staff/administration.
Much better than my old school. People can be themselves and not be bullied for it.
Ethan Harvey should have won but the ref called illegal head lock when it was a half they should get there facts straight
