The Indiana Military Museum is a fantastic collection of war history artifacts from WWI with some present-day items. Everyone is greeted with a WWII Era C-47 airplane along with many others displayed where you can walk up and take a closer look. We were there on a day honoring and recognizing Vietnam Veterans. There were several food vendors and some reenactments going on in the back acreage. This museum was featured on the television show American Pickers. The collections here are astounding, and so are the dedicated volunteers who are constantly updating displays, giving tours, and taking in donations of militaria to the museum. The gift shop is right inside the main building, so you can easily pop in and grab a gift or two without having to pay an admission. Current pricing is: Adults $5 Veterans & Seniors $7 Kids 5-17 years old $5 Children under 5 FREE The Annex is the newest addition that houses many WWII displays, including a couple of Rosie the Riveters'. It has a nice clean bathroom and very friendly greeters.
It is an amazing place, especially being only 2 hours away from where I live. My family and I really love military history coming from a military family and to be able to see some of the vehicles that were in many of the wars and actually be able to touch some of them and get close was pretty awesome. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful and even some of the volunteers walked with you to give you lessons and talk about different items which was really awesome. We went during the World War I reenactment event and got to see a lot of really interesting people. The reenactment was really fun, and getting to walk through the mock trenches and pick up spent casings from the rifles was really cool. I was told that they have a Memorial Day event where all the running vehicles tanks, trucks, and and cars get brought out in a parade. Makes me want to plan just to see it. Highly recommended if you are really into history of the military and the military history of Indiana.
It was wonderfully set up. The main museum was so detailed, then we went to the annex, what they called the big guns. We got a private tour explaining almost everything in there. Could have easily spent another day there and still not see it all. Only complaint is that they need a bigger display on the USS Vincennes CG 49. It is a very recent piece of history, the namesake of the town, and there wasn't much about it.
One of the best military museums I've seen.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
I can't describe how much I enjoyed touring the Indiana military museum today. The displays were informative and the staff were so helpful and explained things perfectly. It is a self guided tour which I preferred because I got to go at my own pace. I spent two hours here and still felt like I could have been there longer. 100% recommend

They have a very good collection of military items. The museum is laid out in such a way that you walk through a historical timeline of our country's military. The neat thing is that you can read a narrative about the items on display. It is worth the time to visit.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
Cool place. There is a lot to see outside of the building. You can walk around each of the items and walk right up to them.

Very nice, and very well played presentation! They have several very rare pieces and a really cool German west wall fortification that you can go into. Very interesting uniform displays throughout the different era's. Too much to describe. Will return, the folks hosting the museum were so nice and very informative.
