Was told I'd have my braces off within 1.5-2years, now being told it'll be almost 3yrs. Only have spacing issues and just seems like they're taking their time, have had three different students now due to them graduating. Would have rather paid more and been put with a resident.
Good work, scheduling is sometimes a hassle d/t volume of patients, but students want to impress professors and professors essentially guarantee quality control. Also, compared to private practices pricing is pretty close to half
I had severe dental pain in a lower molar, and unfortunately my regular dentist only works four days a week. My pain developed while his practice would be closed for four days on a holiday weekend. I knew I could not wait for that period of time as the pain was getting worse. I already knew about the dental school's clinic from reviews and fortunately they accept walk-in new patients. I was able to walk in and get full service the same day. It turned out I needed a root canal. Many dentists will diagnose the root canal and then send you to a specialist. This adds both time and money to your dental issue. Not the case at the clinic. I was diagnosed by a student with the help of his instructor. Once they concluded I needed a root canal, I was sent up a floor to the graduate student section and they performed the root canal. The procedure was excellent and less than half the cost of a typical root canal procedure. Although you are working with students, everything is supervised by instructors. Equipment is state of the art. I can't think of any dentist in Indianapolis that could have diagnosed and fixed my root canal in one day, especially the day before a long holiday weekend. There is some waiting involved. I recommend getting there right when they open or right before noon when the afternoon appointments are set. They also accept insurance if you have dental insurance. Overall, an excellent experience from start to finish. The clinic will be my regular dentist going forward.
Five visits, treatment plan and seven months in. Still no help. Gums deteriorating horribly. Lost a tooth during treatment and have 4 loose teeth. Made my appointment in October of 22. Asked then about how you pay. Asked if they had care credit. Was told no but we have 10 other ways to pay. 2023 they got care credit. I wasn't told. Each visit I thought we would talk about cost. I have a good down payment. December I made appointment at IU dental surgery. Took 7 weeks to get in. They took x-ray made appointment and paid down on a payment plan. Didn't even make it home they left message they made 3,000 dollar mistake. So the lady cancelled my appointment. And I was hoping to get someone to ask about 5.000 dollar plan. 1200 or so anateshia. No call back. Have an hour before closing the office. I get a call another appointment is cancelled. This time doctor is out. They made another appointment. I have two have two weeks ahead to get a ride to bring me home after surgery. Had t it. Before though I did try to get Jamie to call me. No call so I cancelled. It's been two and a half weeks. No call yet. When they said they didn't know when she would call back. They weren't kidding. I had asked to talk to a manager or HR. My Health doctor even wrote letter. Can't eat, sleep and losing weight. I would not tell anyone to come to school if they have horrible problems. Maybe get your teeth cleaned that's it. Very disappointed it's been 7 months. I thought I had a goal when I started at IU dental school.
I choose John Levon DDS to do my dental procedures. He was great to work with, and so patient with me! He is an artist and did a fantastic job placing teeth in the plates. I had him do an overdenture on the bottom, and a new plate on top. Its like a cosmetic upgrade for me and they are so comfortable! Id give a 10 review if I could! Im very pleased!
I was referred to Shaun Matthew’s- ended up with Bill Ching. He was rude, and doesn’t follow through. A disappointment for people with actual issues that will improve quality of life. He insulted people in admire and referred to questions I had as “unintelligent” for example, “What’s the recovery time?”. He killed my spirit
I'm really pleased my inner voice told me to make an appointment here. EVERYONE I've interacted with has been courteous and kind. The actual services received are quick, easy and virtually painless. I think I am receiving some of the best modern treatments available. As well as being seen by the next and newest generation of dental professionals with fresh eyes and skills. I will stay a patient for my duration.
I went there to get help for my toothache to find that they had special summer hours and weren't even open that day. That's fine, but they could have at least reflected that information on their website so the people don't pay for parking downtown and come all the way to get help for no purpose.
I’ve been coming to the dental school for years. If you don’t have insurance, it’s a great way to get dental care at a fraction of the cost it would be to have your dental care provided by private practice. You can tell that the doctors and students have a passion for what they do and that is invigorating to be around. Of course, that can depend on which student you are with. It’s on the IUPUI campus. If you park in the garage across the street from the dental school, they will give you a ticket to validate your parking so you don’t have to pay for it. The busiest time to come is in the morning and right after lunch because the students are taking their patients in. I have brought my daughter in to the pediatric dental care in I would not recommend that part of the dental school for my child so we take her to private practice. But for adults, it’s a great option if you have the time for the 2.5 hour appointment and need to save money on dental procedures.
My brother Robert had the misfortune of interacting with a disgusting and cold woman Kathy Pedigo. She needs to get her ego checked. Is this how assistant directors are supposed to act?! Disgraceful. She needs to retire and never come back!
