Nurses and transport here are extremely nice and always helpful. Drs are hit or miss but the good ones have great bedside manner. Rooms are nice and clean.
The staff there were wonderful. I can’t say enough about how kind and thorough the nurses and doctors are there. However I was brought there last evening about 7pm by Millville EMS after a car accident. I was asked to wait in the ED waiting area. I was there for 10 hours! I know these are unprecedented times, and that ED waiting area had about 40-50 people waiting. But those same people, including me, were there THE WHOLE TIME. We were being brought to triage area for blood work, to radiology for X-rays, etc, but each time returned to the waiting area. The waiting area was freezing! The water fountains were turned off, I’m assuming for COVID precautions, and none of the cell phone charging stations worked. There was no television on. There were several, elderly folks there in wheelchairs, some slumped over trying to rest. The staff did their best to bring them comfort, providing blankets, etc. even checking blood sugars while they were sitting there At one point a nurse came out and gave “roll call” just to determine who was still there, waiting. Around two AM they starting using the triage area as exam rooms, having patients see doctors because there were no more rooms available in the ER exam unit. That moved things along. And I was told that because the hospital was so full, they couldn’t move patients from the ER beds to the floors, and this had been going on for months. Is it staffing? Lack of space? I don’t believe that acute healthcare demands are going to change. We are going to see the results of the pandemic for years to come, so Inspira really needs to figure this out. Cumberland County is one of the most impoverished counties in NJ, which is just going to increase medical needs due to lack of health equity, and lack of access . I know you are the only hospital available to Cumberland County, but Cumberland County residents deserve better. I’m fine. I got lucky, but I would not choose your emergency room again. I advise anyone who has the means to go elsewhere to do so.
Huge Loophole in the System... I am amazed at the professionalism and the kindness of the staff, and I completely understand how overworked they are; however, there is a serious loophole in the system. My Mother 97 years old was transferred from Urgent Care because of Flu A diagnosis and possible pneumonia. They transferred her by ambulance to avoid a long wait in the ER. The ER was mobbed because there were not enough available beds in the facility, hence, there were not enough beds available in ER. We waited for six hours to be seen. I get it. Those poor folks working the ER in the hospital were swamped, and there was nothing they could do, but here's the real problem. Although my Mother finally got a bed in ER, she was not technically admitted, so she did not receive any food, water, or medication for almost 1.5 days. She could not be admitted until a room became available. Ok, I get it, but really? We had to bring her her own meds and we had to bring her food and water. Does anyone else consider this a problem? To be clear, the doctors and professional care was great, but this policy is ridiculous. I give the docs five stars, but this policy? One Star.
Since its opened ive had family in and out of here. Best part of the hospital? Maternity. Worst? The rest. Most of the staff is rude in the ER. My dad was dying and they couldnt even wipe the gunk off of his right eye. I HAD TO!i got the oh your moms fine. But yet she went to another hospital, same day, got in! but actually is build to handle sick people not hurt people. Still is sick after 4 times here. Had to go to another hospital. I would be worried coming here if I ever have to.
My wife was admitted a week ago. The nursing staff have been very kind and helpful. The phone operators are rude, not helpful and have know generally Knowledge of the properties. A package was developed on Friday and she did not receive it. The Front desk went out of there way to help. I called on Saturday morning, the operator was rude and not helpful at all after I explained the problem, she wanted to connect me to the nurse's station..why,it's not a medical problem?.
I wanted to write this review simply to recognize one employee. Gary at the registration desk of medical imaging was so kind and helpful to me when i came in by myself for the first time for X-Rays. I had a bit of confusion about the registration process among other things having never been through it without a parent present and he was extremely patient and kind and deserves to be recognized for that kindness. Thank you!
Spent 4 hours in an overcrowed dirty er waiting room. Staff repeatedly rude to patients and on top of that zero cleaning of area and During this time only 1 staff personal enforced the mask policy. I guess the rest felt it was job security. I absolutely think this place is the worse hospital in the state. #still waiting
If I could give it 0 stars, I would. This hospital is very unorganized with roughly 3-6 hours of waiting time, REGARDLESS OF THE SEVERITY. Not to mention the people in the hospital have no idea what they are doing and misdiagnose patients. This hospital used to be great, but now it's just a big mess and very disappointing. If you are in the Vineland area, save the trouble and go to Elmer hospital instead.
I came to the Vineland Inspira in tears, desperate for help. My primary care physician directed me to go to the ER when I told him via a tele-health that I was seeing stars and feeling like I was going to pass out. This was due to being COVID+. As I’m telling the girl at the front desk a brief explanation as to why i was there she cut me off and said “if you want to be admitted just sign here, that’s all I need.” Ok, fine. I proceed to the waiting area where there are maybe a dozen other people. Triage was fine. They were polite enough. The waiting area was filthy. Trash all around. The phone chargers didn’t work either which is ridiculous. If there’s one service you can offer your patrons while they wait it would definitely be a working phone charger so they can remain in touch with their family. Especially since I had been dropped off by a family member and otherwise would not be able to contact anyone. Plus, it would be nice to be able to use the phone while you’re waiting for hours on end. I understand that there’s only so much room in the ER but clearly you need to expand. I also understand that staff is probably frustrated with the circumstances but isn’t that what you signed up for when you went and got your credentials and applied to work in a hospital? It’s just ridiculous that you’re going to let desperate hurt sick people gravel in a dirty waiting area. I eventually left and went to Elmer instead, thank God! I probably would’ve passed out on the floor there if I didn’t ask my boyfriend to find me a different hospital. The owner of this hospital needs to take a look at these reviews and DO SOMETHING!! You are providing a poor excuse of an ER to one of NJ’s largest cities/counties and you’re going to let someone die one day. At the very least if wait times are going to stay ridiculous then do something with your horrible waiting area.
Taking wonderful observant care of my father during complications in late stage Parkinson’s. Keeping him comfortable and offering good advice on treatment and care. Thank you to all who have helped assist, my deepest gratitude and appreciation.
