3 years ago tried registering my daughter for kindergarten round-up and was told by staff that I should consider Ochwilla due to they have more colored children there. I contacted the school board and spoke with Pam Douglas at the time and 2 minutes later I received a Formal apology from Jason Reeves who was the school principal at the time. The school board was embarrassed knowing that this terminology is being used at this institution. And to tell you the truth Ochwilla is a better school hands down because they truly care about the children and their needs. In my opinion I think there should be some additional behavioral training for the staff and not so much for the students...

This is the best school in putnam county. I have had my oldest in browning pearce, moseley, and mellon and interlachen elementary is the best above all. The teachers are very well trained and treat the kids like their own. The principal and assistant principal is always there to listen to your concerns. And everyone is like a big family. I had one that will leave IES this year. And one that will start along with my two boys that was there last year. And i couldnt be happier that they get to attend IES.
