The International NGO Safety and Security Association (INSSA) is a professional association formed to improve the quality, effectiveness, and delivery of safety and security management for humanitarian and development assistance implementers and the beneficiaries they serve around the world.
INSSA aims to:
-Promote and establish NGO safety and security good practices among humanitarian workers, implementing organizations, government and private sector donors.
-Promote innovation, collaboration and resource sharing via its network of individuals and organizations interested in NGO safety and security. INSSA provides a platform for professional exchanges through its membership directory; online career portal; NGO security specific events, trainings, and meetings; database of information and applied methodologies; and its growing partnerships with organizations, companies, and academic institutions relevant to NGO security professionals and implementers.
-Promote NGO safety and security as a specialized field through professional development, research and public awareness. In its effort to understand the needs of NGO security professionals, aid workers, and implementing organizations, INSSA assists in research and advocacy by conducting surveys and research among security professionals and aid workers in operational areas.
