Get rid of the pregnant girl. She is the absolute WORST! Worst customer service and she is rude and disrespectful. Always on the phone pretending she can't hear what you say to her. I witnessed her make fun an elderly man because he asked her to repeat something she said to him. Bless her child. Not coming back here!
IREA CARRIBEAN REST. & BAKERY across the Street from the 77th Pct. On Utica Avenue. This has to be the WORST Restaurant in Brooklyn. One Early morning 6am I stopped in there hoping to have Breakfast, but to my surprise they had the FULL lunch Menu ready. I ordered the Oxtails Hard and old, Curry chicken Dry and not tasty, and the Fish very Dry not seasoned well. I put 2 and 2 together and thought it's NO way they could've cooked 8-10 Lunch items by 6am, that was YESTERDAY'S food. NOTHING tasted good. 1 Star is the Lowest I could give. They need to change the NAME to Yesterday's Irea ...
I ordered curry chicken roti … food was tasteless.. no Caribbean seasoning … I paid $16 for them to sprinkle curry powder on the chicken, no potatoes just chicken but the plantains were good, but I definitely wouldn’t order from here again
TERRIBLE food overcooked and taste so strange the jerk chicken doesn’t taste like jerk at all and burnt the lemonade taste like Lemon juice water and sugar the plantains are hard and taste strange and old and the Mac and cheese dry can tell they use cheap cheese everything just taste strange and nasty and overcooked even the rice EVERYTHING and they have the nerv to miss toppings you ordered I will never order from here again NASTY FOOD!! The pictures are more tasteful I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL OR FOOD it’s like a bad dream of food goodluck if you buy here!
I ordered shrimp roti but what I got was shrimp pot pie! It was soupy and the shrimp even had the shell on the ends of some of them! This isn’t how any other Caribbean restaurant or person makes it! I was extremely disappointed because I wanted to try a new place so I went with this and it FAILED. They also asked me to adjust my spice level so I chose mild and it still came spicy** Also, I ordered a side of vegetables thinking it would be broccoli or collard greens or even something that goes with the food but no! I got a side of mixed vegetables - which they don’t even specify on the menu. Never ordering from here again!!
Food is just okay, but customer service is complete trash. They called Uber Eats to tell them that I canceled my order without ever contacting me. I was charged by them AND received no food. Never supporting this spot again!
Lady that serves the food is very nasty and unprofessional. Give you a hassle if you ask if she can switch out a tiny piece of chicken for a bigger one. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE ! She caught an attitude with me when I asked for a minor packet of hot sauce after lying about having it in the first place. There other better place then this one. The food is not worth it.
Earlier this morning, I ordered a saltfish and ackee meal from here on Uber eats. While eating my food I felt hair in my mouth, so I spit it out and lost my appetite. I called Irie's restaurant and whoever I spoke to, told me she does not understand how that happened, because every worker has their hair covered, and told me to request a refund on Uber Eats. I told her my hair was covered as well, and the hair in my food is not my curl pattern. Then she said, when hair is wet, you can not tell who curl pattern it belongs to......... At the end of the day, I just wanted a new plate of food instead of going through the hassle of getting a refund, but because there was no accountability my experience with the restaurant's customer service was very disappointing.
Curry goat was off the charts! The flavors belong in a Michelin star restaurant! This will be my first stop anytime I am in Brooklyn New York. I don’t understand how anybody is giving this place a bad review. The young lady that helped me was very friendly and the portions were large. The prices are appropriate for New York. If you don’t understand the effort it takes to make this kind of food and the expense of running a restaurant in one of our nations most expensive cities, you should not be complaining about price. My only suggestion is to get some reggae playing. There was no music when I came in :-. Keep faith in Lion
This is a great spot for carribean food. Very satisfying.Food: 5/5
