You can find some individual teachers with expectations for learning though rigorous standards are not encouraged or supported. The district has a relatively successful system in place, but that isn't saying much. There are some fantastic kids here though students of great character and effort are not recognized as they should be.
This place is horrible. I decided to pull my own kids out and send them to another school. Do not send your kids here. A lot of bullying, drugs and pregnancies at this place. Teachers and principal won't do anything to keep from the kids being abused. One of my own kids got slapped by a boy named Joel. The principal didn't do anything to the boy. I'm disgusted. Stay away they run this place like a prison. Another teacher said my daughter was stupid because she didn't know a certain algebraic procedure and this was in an intermediate math class. This place is a concentration camp. Do not send your kids here.
As long as your student fits the mold they will do very well here. A student outside the norm will likely not be supported by the administration. A lot of attention paid to graduation rates in 6 years now I have been told about graduation rates at least 10 times. Your student will be fine until they need an accommodation under the law. Needing an IEP or 504 plan will fall on deaf ears until your student starts to fail out, then you will hear about you can help graduation rates but not how the school can help your student.
I have gone here since freshman year I honestly like this school a lot yeah there's bullies and drugs but that's every where. This school is good at showing friendship and school spirit and you can tell the teachers care about the students and each other
Horrible school letting your kid come here is letting them become a druggie or pregnant or end up as a failure. Their staff is so horribly trained. The cafeteria you'll find hair or a bug in your food. Their caferia has had known bug problems and even had been shut down for it a few times. Their security however does their job and actually gives a crap. However scary to see every time you come here there's a cop car parked by the front office. Clearly don't let your kid come here. What a joke it it.
Very unhappy with English 101 teacher Ms. Pike. She has created a hostile environment in her classroom. Many of the students complained about her being sarcastic, condescending when she is asked a question. She has berrated and humiliated one student after another and I hear she enjoys and audience. This is not an environment conducive to learning. I want a knowledgeable teacher for my son who is compassionate and motivated. Not a pitbull..I complained to principal and if that doesn't motivate the administration then it is on to the superintendent Santarelli. They need to have someone sit in this class and see how awful she conducts herself. It is unacceptable. Not everyone can be a teacher obviously but do we have to put up with the negative hateful ones that have no business being a teacher??????
This school is sooooo cool im a super senior and i want to live here for the rest of my life my favorite experience is when the school was when we got boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo because i was a freshmen i never poopz at the school i take pees i like the pies class of 2018 all way yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa This school is the best. This school is so stupid I hate it the stupid transportation people said srry we can go down that street oh but u can go down the street across from mine can't u I honestly think they want people to hate their school I can't walk that far when it 100 degrees outside everyday with asthma. And they act like it's so easy to make friends it took me weeks to make friends I honestly HATE THIS SCHOOL
From the courtesy of students I encountered to the great teachers, coaches, and IB program, a top school in the area. Parents be involved with your teens as much as possible.
I'd only attend this school for their Marching Band! But the classes are ok, I guess. Great people here, but an even better Marching Band
