Issaquah High School

Description

Issaquah High School is a four-year public secondary school in Issaquah, Washington, a suburb east of Seattle. Also known as Issaquah Senior High School or IHS, it is one of three high schools in the Issaquah School District and serves students in grades 9 - 12 from the central portion of the district. Issaquah High serves Issaquah, Sammamish, and Bellevue.HistoryFounded in 1901, Issaquah was the only high school in the school district until Liberty High School opened in 1977. Previously located near the Issaquah Middle School campus, IHS moved to its present site in southeast Issaquah in 1962. Growth of enrollment at IHS has coincided with the growth of the Issaquah community. The Issaquah School District completed the construction of the Pacific Cascade Freshman Campus in 2005, making it the new home to the freshman class of IHS and nearby Skyline High School. IHS enrolled only three grades (10-12) for five academic years (2005–10), while an extensive remodeling of the school took place. As of this year, the remodeling is complete. The cost of the remodel totaling $61,500,000, it is now the District's largest school. The three stories accommodate 1,850 students. There are three classroom wings, science labs, a main and auxiliary gym, commons, and administrative spaces.

I have been to many many schools and Issaquah high is by far the best. There is so much team spirit and little to no bullying. Everyone is excepting of each other, and if someone doesn't like you they will just keep to themselves. In my opinion, nobody cares what "clique" your in people just except you. The teachers are so available and genuinely care about you. Best school ever.
I went to Issaquah High School for some of my Senior Year, and first glance it was a very beautiful school, and the best looking school I've ever attended, but what makes me give this school 1 star are the students. If I could give this a strong 0 stars I would. This school has the most racists and unwelcoming group of students I have ever had to go to school with in my life. Out of all the schools I've attended from preschool to high school, from Alki elementary, to going to school on the east coast, attending Thomas Jefferson High in Auburn, and being African American, I have never encountered any type of discrimination nor racist experiences until I went to Issaquah High School. The curriculum was good though.
Well, 2018 grad, three years of this school I've learned plenty of things. One, the administration really tries to get everyone to graduate. However that isn't necessarily good because they don't care how it happens. As long as they graduate, they don't care what happens. The campus itself while beautiful, is completely useless and not functional in any way. Bathrooms by gender are on alternating levels and wings. Countless times I've walked into the women's by accident purely because I can't remember which wing and floor I'm on. I'm regularly late to class. Especially when I'm on the first wing in math on the third floor rushing to AP French in the portables across campus, thank goodness for the 10 minute break. The students are hit and miss. Robbery, drugs, sex under the influence, are infested in the school. But then there are all AP taking students. Diversity wise I'd say it's a plus. There is mild racism to all sides. During the elections, there was a positive rally out front that supported all lgbtq and all races with love. In fact I admire them for changing to the Eagles from the Indians. Staff: no comment
Beautiful school, competent teachers, horrible arrogant and incredibly difficult to deal with administration. Worst possible leadership I have ever seen in any school district I have eternally grateful to have my son out of this school and hope to never to have to grace this school or its administration again. Avoid the pain and hassle and move your kids to another school.
students are wonderful, teachers are meh. all "education" is a dangerous control of the mind, where people can pick and choose what you learn. experience and personal exploration will forever be the only true education.
A lot of the negative reviews here are mainly trolls, it's a pretty good school, not perfect. Some teachers I like, some I don't like. Would give it 4/5, but only making it 5 because of these trolls.
There is only one word that fully exemplifies the grandeur of this fabulous institution, a resounding "WOW!". As a mother of 14 I felt a great sense of relief flying my children in every morning and watching as they were beaten before being granted entrance. The Associate Student Body appears to be no more than a unified band of savages tying together the fabric that places those in their pre-determined position. The hierarchy in the social establishment places the worth of an individual where it should be attributed, in their distance from the Nazi party. Although some do not make it through their 4 years those that manage to matriculate enter the world more prepared than those of a more primitive stature. Thank you. Hail the Eagles.
Reviews are way too negative. For a school, it's one of the best. I recommend Robotics Club.
Darwin Morris what a sad individual. This is a very strong, caring educational program. Darwin obviously never had the chance to meet anyone here.
It is absolutely great. You get to make larger friend groups. I have had fun here.
