I would give this location 0/5 if that was an option. Have a storage unit and was unable to access it for 4 months due to no management present on site to give access to the lights. Was never given a key fob for light access and HAS to be turned on by management, however they were never present during the listed business hours. I called corporate several times and was told i would be called back by regional staff and that also never happened. I have not been able to access my unit and cant get ahold of anyone on site. I now have a bill and my unit has been locked as I asked to not have to pay full price for my unit since i have not been able to access it. No one called me back, and they decided instead to lock my unit and put it to auction. I am being asked to pay for a service I literally couldn't use based on their inability to staff. Once when I called they stated they haven't had management at that building and the man i was speaking to was from Michigan because they were trying to "help out". However he wasn't located at this location so yet again i had no access to my unit as it requires someone to turn on the lights to access my middle unit. The last time i attempted to go there was a used condom wrapper, cheetos bag, empty alcohol container and the sound of groaning/moaning coming from one of the units. I was very afraid, even in the middle of the day, because again i am in a middle unit and had no access to lights. So i left immediately and called to report this BUT yet again no one called me back. They have not adjusted my bill at all, they locked my unit and they are putting it to auction. this company is poorly staffed, unreasonable when they cant provide the service they promote, and poorly run by upper management passing the buck and avoiding ownership of their terrible service. DO NOT RENT HERE.

It would take me multiple pages to detail all the horrible experiences I’ve had with this iStorage, but I’ll simply mirror what the other reviews have said. No access to lights, was never told about or given a fob to access said lights, had 4 months of literally NO ONE in the office, no return phone calls to address these issues. There were food wrappers and condoms littering the floor of the hallway that my unit was in, plus snuffling sounds of what was clearly someone squatting in one of the units. Trying to access my storage in pitch black, while fearing for my safety and having absolutely no one watching the premises or returning the MULTIPLE calls and messages made for an absolutely horrific experience. The owner is a money grubbing slum lord that, despite his responses to these reviews, does NOT attempt to correct any of their egregious errors, and simply locks you out and auctions off your unit. STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION IF YOU VALUE YOUR PROPERTY, SAFETY AND MONEY! Zero stars across the board. Shame on you, iStorage.

This place is not worth it. First time I went in, I couldn't get the lights on. I didnt have the lights moving things for a few days. I eventually went to the office and they failed to ever mention I needed a fob to turn the lights on in the building. The same day I went in to speak to the office lady, the door was locked even though I tried to go in an hour before closing. The rent for the units does not stay the same, they raise it whenever they feel like it. They will claim they give you a 30 day notice about the change and you most likely won't receive it. If you are a few days late on a payment 2 days, your storage unit will be locked. This place is a joke. Go to a storage place where you can get a cheaper rate, better customer service, an inside unit, and automatic lights that don't require a fob. *UPDATE* They do have someone new in the office that started a few weeks ago and he called me today. Management may not be as bad now but everything I said is the truth.

The absolute worst place to store anything. Ever since the new company bought them they have not had a store manager and everything has gone down hill. Some of the storage units have sunk down enough that water does not drain away from them and drains into them instead. They should not rent these units in the winter at all. They have no customer service or any help for anything.

Avoid this storage facility as if it were infested by bad customer service. I won't detail here all of the issues I had dealing with this facility or the fact that they never gave me a refund for their terrible attention to customer needs. Just stay away. Poor digital experience, poor site management, poor rating. Pleased with Public Storage since I switched.

I was canceling my storage unit and had already paid for the next month. The contract states that they do not pro rate the rent, which I knew. Jeramie made a phone call to corporate and they agreed to give me most of my money back for the next month. He went above and beyond and I would highly recommend Istorage and particularly Jeramie for helping me out when he really didn’t have to.

There was no one in the office even though the posted time indicated they were open. I had a hard time finding the correct door to enter with my unit. There are no lights so at night you need a flashlight. I couldn’t figure out how to get out…the box was 150 feet behind the gate and I couldn’t find it.

The Shakopee iStorage is very clean and kept up very well, I was very impressed with the facility! And Jeremy was wonderful and had all the answers I was looking for, he was very kind as well and professional! I would highly recommend the iStorage in Shakopee,MN due to my experience has been great thus far!

iStorage was the perfect place for our short-term storage needs. The service was super friendly and the ability to access the storage from inside was perfect on days where weather was not the best. Would highly recommend iStorage!

New, well maintained facility with full fire protection and security system in all units which was important to me since a lot of my things had sentimental value and couldn't be replaced. Free use of their moving truck and really nice office/lounge/restroom. Price was comparable to others in the area. Pleasant, helpful people in the office. Highly recommended!
