Instructional Materials Center (IMC) stores: (1) K-12 textbooks currently adopted by the State of Idaho; (2) Media collections; (3) Manipulatives; (4) Professional and technical textbooks; (5) COE theses and dissertations.
The Instructional Materials Center (IMC) is a library that contains many different types of teaching materials. We have textbooks for grades pre-K-12, some resources for high school AP classes, bilingual resources, ELLs, Special Education resources, vocational, manipulatives, and ISTEM resources. Subjects we carry are ELL, Special Education, Reading, Music, English/Language, Handwriting, Literature, Social Studies, Geography, History, Foreign Language, Mathematics, Science, Health, Spelling, Vocabulary Development, Art, Drama, Vocational, and Technology. For Literature, to support our textbooks, we have a children's Lit section, an Awarding-Winning section, and a classics section. History divisions we have in stock are World, US/American, and Idaho. Mathematics ranges from elementary math to pre-algebra up to calculus and statistics. Sciences range from basic elementary science to high school sciences, such as Earth, Physical, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Our vocational categories are Journalism, Machine Technology, Psychology, Sociology, Engineering, Economics, Personal Finance, Health Care, Nursing, Anatomy, Sports Medicine, Culinary Arts, Life Skills/Career Opportunities, Accounting, Business/Business Law, Carpentry, Architecture/Masonry, Agriculture/Landscaping, Automotive, Industrial Mechanics, and Welding. Our Technology section is for computers, Microsoft, and web design. The manipulative room contains visual/hands-on resources for teaching, such as LeapFrog supplies, puppets, charts, and instruments for music, math, and science. We have dictionaries and encyclopedias for in-house use. We also carry theses and dissertations of graduate students of Masters and Doctorates Degrees.
Our resources are provided from the same publishers that are used by school districts in the surrounding areas.
