Took my family out for dinner and thought this place would be nice to try. As we approached the front door entrance The door was slightly open so we entered. As we walked in a gentleman was sleeping on the side of the table booth. I said Hi as we stood by the door. Very rude he yelled were closed and did the hand gesture to get out. I said sorry your door was open. He got more upset and raised his voice and said closed leave. I looked at business hours as I was walking out it said open at 4:30pm was open time it was 4:00 pm. It wouldn’t have been so bad if he would hav said sorry we’re closed still, but that response was terrible and bad customer service. Will never go back to try EVER VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL.
The food was great. The prices are average and they have a wonderful mix of Hawaiian and Asian dishes. The tempura shrip is American style not Japanese tempura shrimp. Still went well with the dish but not as good as it could be. Please be aware that the glassware may be dirty. Our had grease left over inside the glass. Vegetarian options: They have some options but I would not estimate here for that. Kid-friendliness: They had family there with seat adjusters. Parking: Parking is limited
Iwayama's is always Amazing! Amazing food! Amazing Sushi! Amazing Desserts!Food: 5/5
So after getting dragged to Highlands Ranch I figured it was a good time to try a restaurant that was across town. I’ve definitely been wanting to try @iwayama_sushi for some time. To start I had the tempura app. Amazing. But the thing I was really excited to try was the misoyaki butterfish It’s fairly hard to find in Colorado certainly in the north metro area. I loved this one, I even finished the vegetable garnish underneath. I overheard the server telling the next table about the malasadas so had to try those. It was fried dough so good but not quite what I’m used to. It was more cakey than I was hoping for I think chemically leavened rather than yeast. But it was fresh and good. Except for the whole 30 mile drive I’m sure I’d come often if not for the butterfish the Kalua pig, garlic chicken, or loco moco all things I will try.
Wow, what a treasure of a hideaway! It's tucked into the corner of the strip mall, although it has a giant sign reading 'Sushi'. We were immediately seated, but this is a small restaurant, so some customers had to wait. It may be informative to know that customers were also WILLING to wait. Between on premises orders and o line/phone orders, this place was hopping! The wait person readily suggested rolls that fit our tastes. The rolls were of expected size and very fresh. Of course, you can be seated at the sushi bar and watch your order from start to table. Staff were friendly and fulfilled needs as expressed as mentioned, this place was busy! We did have to ask for the check...no biggie. We will make this a regular stop.
Iwayama Sushi wasn’t at all what I expected or imagined. It was my first time going. Going by the name alone, I expected Japanese food. I was mistaken. The menu included not only sushi but also tacos, burritos, and Korean short ribs. Though I love sushi, I didn’t try any this time around. I’m used to authentic Japanese, super fresh sushi and sashimi and I wasn’t sure what to expect. Instead, I ordered a cod dish, that was excellent. I finished everything: the fish, veggies, and rice. Though the dish seemed a bit pricey, everything tasted so good. I would love to have that cod dish, again. And maybe I’ll try some sushi.
A true hidden gem!! The wait staff are friendly, the chefs are hard-working and always make great food! I go here often and recommend it to all of my sushi loving friends. Great quality for the price too!
Nice local sushi spot. Pretty busy so you know it's all fresh. Good variety of rolls. Decent prices for what you get.Food: 5/5
Negihama- hamachi and scallions is a roll that can stand up to any sushi den roll. This roll is small but super packed with flavor. Wow Danielle Roll-cucumber, avocado, asparagus, lemon, and salmon. This is a big roll that is perfectly paired with ingredients that compliment each other. Joe, our waitress was so helpful in helping us pick the rolls and checking on us throughout our entire meal. Kid-friendliness: Super helpful with my kiddo who wanted a special drink. He ended up doing a sprite with fruit punch and absolutely loved it.
Definitely worth the hype! Located in a neighborhood strip mall, this is our go-to sushi/Hawaiian food spot since we moved to Colorado! The loco moco was spot on you know it's mostly about the gravy!, the tempura udon was perfect with chewy udon noodles and a delicious broth, and the beef teriyaki plate was generously portioned and super 'ono! The sashimi and rolls were super fresh and the poke tasted like home! And for dessert yeah, we were hungry, the malasadas hit the spot!!
