Jack Stack Barbecue - Lee's Summit

My wife and I hail from Houston and in Texas and in certain crowds I could be considered a pit master. My son lives in KC area and I’ve tried nearly every bbq joint in KC. Jack Stacks is among the best I’ve had. I have to say though that our waitress Cristina made the whole experience awesome! The place was packed and we all agreed that she is one of the best waitresses we’ve ever experienced anywhere we’ve dined and we’ve dined at some of the best restaurants around the USA! She was simply incredible! We ordered mushrooms and corn bread as appetizers and did the Jacks Best with extra prime smoked beef ribs. The beef ribs in single word are awesome! Sorry the pics were an after thought except the carrot cake and triple fudge brownies. Highly recommend Jacks if your looking KC BBQ. If your dining in ask for Christina

Great BBQ, service, and atmosphere. This is more of an upscale BBQ restaurant. Small servings of the sides, but they are good. The restaurant, restrooms, employees, and parking are all clean. The area is safe. It is usually pretty busy, but I usually get seated quickly. Overall, it is a great place for a business associate for a date, friends hanging out, out of town guests to experience KC BBQ.

Excellent BBQ, with flavors in the meat so delicious that sauce wasn't even necessary! The cole-slaw was super fresh, light, and refreshing. The fries were light and crunchy, and the salad dressing on the spinach salad was unique, with sweet, sour, and savory playing nicely together. Every meat selection was delicious. The cheese corn was delightful, and very filling. The pickles are amazing, and should be available for sale separately. The baked beans were very good, although could have used a richer flavor of molasses and/or bacon. All sauces were tastey, but trended to the brighter more tomato side, instead of darker smoke/molasses/spice side. Absolutely no complaints. Service was fantastic, our drinks were never empty, and everything was prompt. Very highly recommend!!!

UPDATE BELOW: I have been to this location so many times because it is a family favorite. I’ve never been disappointed until recently. This review is a reflection of my last visit. I ordered a family meal where the only edible thing was the beans and the chicken wings. My ribs and burnt ends were dry as ever. The bread was molded. I hadn’t had the cupcakes before calling but even those were dry and not fresh at all. I called in to inform the manager whom was very apologetic and offered to send me a gift card. I would have much rather gotten my money back but I get the tactic. Get me back in there. Well I spent over $90. I ordered two additional things that were perfect but still the main course which I complained about was $65+ dollars. I received a $20 gift card today in the mail . I’m not impressed by this level of resolve. It cost that in gas to come back and give it another try. I’m not trying to win the the jack stack mega millions but I do believe I would have returned the entire meal for a full refund if it wasn’t 9:50 at night. I decided to reach back out and share my dissatisfaction. Hannah was helpful, apologetic and is reversing the charge.

Our first time to a jacks stack. I had seen on food network or somewhere to visit for great bbq. We came in later like after 7 pm. The restaurant is pretty but it was FAAHHREEZING! We got sat at our first location and I asked to move. Even the waitstaff were cold lol. Second want bad but still cold. I got a throw blanket from the car lol. The waitress Cheyenne was EXTREMELY SWEET and said she would turn down the temp. She was super attentive and made the experience better. I must say, I was a bit disappointed. Hubby orders the big pig sandwich . He liked it but he wished they gave him bbq sauce. So I gave him mine. I ordered the sampler to get the best experience. The unlimited coleslaw was awesome. It’s drier than most but not bad. The beans were different. I can’t explain how. I was 50/50 on the taste. The beef brisket was extremely dry. The ribs a bit dry. The burnt ends were pretty good and moist. Not sure if they were dry cuz of the end of the day? It would be nice to have bbq sauce at the tables. They just give these little tiny cups. So you have to wait to get more. Ask for more in the beginning if you like your meat wet. Cheyenne heard how dry my meat was and gave me extra burnt ends and another coleslaw to take back which was super nice. They got 4 stars cuz of the staff.

Experienced the greatness of Kansas City BBQ in May 2023, ate at the Jack Stack in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Being a Kansas City native this was still a first for me when it comes to Fiorella’s Jack Stack. I purchased the Beef ribs, which were quality but I recommend getting it “wet”. It came with an exceptional side of baked beans and fries. Honestly they have some of the best sauces I’ve tasted in Kansas City BBQ!

Magnificent melt-in-your-mouth morsels of meat. Need I say more? … Well, Jack Stack Barbecue is quite famous, that we know, but unlike most famous restaurants their quality of food and service has not changed since it opened here. Though some menu options change, they still honor old traditional favorites. So if you know, there’s a secret menu of sorts. A place like this is a treat, but despite its popularity, it still surprises me in the best way possible each and every time. Barbecue done right. Parking: Depending on time and day vs. weekday the parking can be relatively easy to find. Just plan ahead and you should be fine.

As far as I know, Jack Stack is the only bbq place in Kansas City where you can get both pork and beef burnt ends. Both are excellent as are most things on the menu. Jack Stack is one if my he very beat barbecue restaurants in the entire country amd I look forward to my next visit.

We sat on the patio as a group celebrating my late favorite place to eat. Fireplace available. The staff and manager made certain the temperature was suitable. The waitress was thoughtful and even brought us a complimentary carrot cake for my niece and fam. Drinks a d food superb as always. Busy place. Expensive. Great service. We got seated right away even though they were busy. Good ribs. Great beans. Cheesy-corn was new to me. I’d have eaten more, as it’s delicious, but I didn’t want any problems. Good size pork sandwiches also. The sauce was okay. The spicy sauce was way too spicy for me so I can’t really comment on it. Delicious food. Great service. I’d eat here again.
