3:00am in ED with my husband for possible kidney stones, can’t find a water fountain, informed to ask for water from personnel behind visitor desk that has a mini fridge that has a sign on it stating for visitors only see pic attached, requested some water and was told that they were out of water, tried to use machine to purchase water myself and it wouldn’t take my card went to car to get cash to use came back and my husband had been given a cup for a urine specimen and still no water given to him, machine wouldn’t take my money, finally got my card to work and got my husband a water. They would let someone die from dehydration before they’d give anyone some fluids. Got to a room in good time, nurse came in very promptly and has been very kind and helpful. Sucks that your first impression has to be someone so rude at the visitors desk! Will update this review as this visit continues and hopeful completes soon with relief for my husband!
5 hours in the waiting room of the ED is a little excessive. You need to have a station set up to weed out the patients with covid so they're not clogging up the ER. We finally left after 2.5 hours. Never saw a doctor to get any help with my son's broken collar bone because of all the covid people who could have went to a walk in clinic. So he went home without pain help or a sling. So disgusted JCMGH.
We recently had a miscarriage and we had nothing but the best nurses and doctors in our care. A special thanks to our night nurse we had both nights Shelby- she was a angel and she took the best care of us. We had the best physicians and our time there we wish were under different circumstances the care we got was amazing.
I was not looking forward to going and put it off until I was really sick. It has been 10 years sense the last time I was there. WOW what a turn around. They had me back right away and everyone was very kind. The nurse went out of her way to keep me comfortable. The next day today I'm feeling 10 times better. My local hospital just days before sent me home not doing anything. I just want to think the staff on call yesterday for everything they did to take care of me
I had gallbladder surgery yesterday and was a little nervous until I got there! Let me say, it was the best hospital experience I've ever had! The staff was kind and informative and they constantly checked on me all the way up till the time I left! Thank you so much for going above and beyond! Sincerely, Robert Martindale
My wife had a stroke earlier this week. Everyone was great to us from start to finish. Nothing ever moves as fast as you think it should in these circumstances. They were however very efficient and caring in their care. I couldn’t ask for better treatment Scott Blakely
Honestly I’m not one to write something like this but it needs to be said. Sunday night my sister in law came to Jackson hospital because my almost two year old niece was sick. Could barley eat coughing very bad and could barely catch her breath. They was awfully rude and hateful to my sister in law my niece even my grandmother. We have never had this experience there ever til Sunday night. I understand it’s overwhelming to be working in a hospital and the long hours. But there is no right to be rude to a child at all. For the nurses and doctors that was working Sunday night please fix the issues don’t bring them out on your patients and their families. I’m sorry for giving a bad review but it needs to be said.
My father went to the ER with pain. This visit turned into a metastatic cancer diagnosis and my dad passing 8 days later. From the ER to the 9th floor to the ICU, we were informed, transferred with care and consulted frequently. His nurses were exceptional and the physicians all very attentive during this difficult diagnosis and ultimate acceptance that dad wouldn’t leave the hospital. We did not experience longer wait times at JMCGH than other hospital wait times. Dad had been in a few neighboring hospitals with other health conditions.
My 5 year old daughter went to the ER after having an anaphylactic reaction to medication. They didn’t check her or provide any antihistamine for 4 hours even after she threw up in the waiting room 3 times. This is dangerous and irresponsible when ER staff has no awareness of anaphylaxis. When a child has hives and is vomiting that can turn fatal quickly and must be dealt with right away, not 4 to 5 hours later when they feel like it!!! Thankfully she is now ok, but it could have been worse with the loss of our child. Hopefully the management will read this and update procedures and not wait for someone’s child to die to do anything.
My father spent a week in Jackson Madison Hospital after being transported from Corinth, Mississippi to Jackson. He was on the 9th floor and the ICU floor. My father as well as our family was treated with the utmost respect, kindness, compassion, and care. Todd in ICU was so kind to my father as well as our family. This was a sudden unexpected illness that took our family by surprise. We had the most compassionate nurses on the 9th floor and I know I will leave some of them out but Amber, Jennifer, Donna, Jeremy, Brittany, Cassidy and others I apologize I did not get everyone's name but every single person we encountered was amazing. Sandra who cleaned my dad's room was nice. We spent many hours in the hospital and every member of this hospital that we encountered was friendly and compassionate. We thought the food was great. Many choices and options and everything we had was good. While this was a very emotional and stressful time, we felt loved and cared for.
