We had a large party and unlike some other restaurants they were able to accommodate our request to be outside on the deck, which was great because the view is amazing. The service was friendly and fast, and the food was very good. The steak special was excellent, and the lobster tails were cooked well but could have been seasoned more heavily. There was also a nice wine selection with reasonable prices - both bottles we got were under $50. Parking: The lot for the shopping center is large and it was easy to find a spot.
Our first visit to Lake Tahoe to celebrate our 20 year anniversary. We rented a lovely home in Truckee and I chose Jake’s on the Lake for our anniversary lunch. WOW! Beautiful spot and delicious food! We sat out on the patio with breathtaking views and delighted in the great gift of not only having each other, but being able to experience these moments of such beauty and pleasure together. The wait staff was wonderful and the garlic truffle fries are not to be forgotten!! Exquisite memories.
The staff was great. Plus 1 star for bring out our 2.5 year olds food first. The got it to her just as she was starting to get restless. The wagyu burger was just disappointing. We ordered medium well and both burgers were beyond well. Into the overcooked realm. Driest burger I’ve had in a while. The drinks, and chicken fingers were amazing so I’m guessing just a bad day, but otherwise very nice, if expensive, place for lunch.
My most favorite is Maitai !!! You need to try it very good with summer vibe. Atmosphere was one of a good spot in Tahoe. The thing that I highly recommend is artichoke fried !!Food: 5/5
Enjoyed lunch yesterday on Jake’s outdoor patio. The view of Lake Tahoe and the mountains defied description as it was almost surreal. The only issue was not having enough shelter from the blazing sun which even heated our silverware too hot to even pick up! Be sure to select a table completely covered by an umbrella if dining during high sun times. The Vegan Buddha bowl we enjoyed was very good although the value proposition at $30 per bowl was borderline excessive. Service was very good as the staff was highly responsive. An experience not to be missed!
I would have given them 5 starts but the desserts were subpar. We ordered tres leche cake, but it tasted like flour. The peach cobbler wasn't cobbler at all. Plus they served an old fashioned in a sugar rimmed martini glass and called it a new old fashioned. I say, don't mess with a classic. We had the salmon bowl special & it was delicious.
Fantastic food, great service with a very friendly staff. Ask for table 27. Great views of the lake!Food: 5/5
Food is good nothing spectacular. You come here for the view, to sit on the porch and get some sun. The staff was very nice, and very busy. They had a hard time keeping up the day I was there.Food: 4/5
Enjoy the gorgeous sunset lake Tahoe views, but I wouldn't get your hopes up too high for the food... Came here for dinner with a large group and we sat upstairs on the 2nd floor. The staff expertly handled our group with a pre-fixe menu, and they were super accommodating when several folks were running late offered to box up entrees and appetizers if our friends didn't make it to dinner. I had the clam chowder soup and fish of the day entree, which was served with risotto in a passion fruit sauce with grilled asparagus. The soup was so rich that I could only eat about a third of the portion. My fish was overcooked and dry. The passion fruit sauce by itself was a little creamy and not bad, but very bizarre once paired with the fish. Dessert was a loosely set panna cotta which was infused with champagne - not quite my style as I prefer desserts without boozy flavors.
We had a pleasant dining experience. My wife ordered the mahi mahi which had a nice crust on that was very tasty. I had the Pork chop Tomahawk which was very flavorful and a good blend of sweet and savory. Dessert was a coconut tres leches cake. The view is pretty nice of the lake but was short lived because the sun sets early over the mountains in the winter. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Overall a great experience.
