The James Canyon Volunteer Fire Department got it's start in the August of 1969.
James Canyon Volunteer Fire Department has a proud heritage of service and is staffed by a highly professional volunteer group of men and women dedicated to the safety of our community. The department's mission incorporates two interlocking functions; Fire Operations and Emergency Medical Services. Both functions are manned by personnel trained specifically for each area's unique duties. Some members are trained for and serve in both capacities.
The Main Station houses four bays for emergency vehicles and a training classroom, kitchen facilities and an administrative office.
The Substation houses bays for another two emergency vehicles as well as the department's equipment for re-filling air canisters for firefighters' contained breathing systems.
