Airport is in the middle of modernization. I hadn’t been to the Dayton Airport in over two decades so this was cool to see. What was annoying about the inside space is the lack of potential use for making money. There were hardly any shops to eat, no independent carts to buy “stuff “, and no self service machines-those types of opportunities can not only add revenue to the economy but also create a unique vibe for travelers and fill the Wasted Space. Not a busy place but enough people travel that way so perhaps someone will consider doing something proactive to enhance the experience.
Quick and easy to get in and drop off or pick up. The signs are some kinds hard to follow but if you pay attention you can find your way around easy enough.
Dayton International Airport is a gem of efficiency and cleanliness. Despite being a small airport, it offers a seamless travel experience with swift check-ins, security procedures, and baggage handling. The staff is friendly and helpful, ensuring a stress-free journey. The airport's cleanliness is commendable, with well-maintained facilities and spotless restrooms. Navigating through the terminals is a breeze, thanks to clear signage and straightforward layouts. Despite its size, the airport provides all the essential amenities, including dining options and convenient parking. Whether you're traveling for business or leisure, this airport delivers a hassle-free experience that rivals larger hubs.
Took 15min to return rental car, walk through security and get to my gate. Amazing. You can walk in 20min before your flight and you should be fine.
I've been flying out of DAY for 24 years. Now, government officials and the media will claim the airport is being "modernized" but the eyeball test shows you something different. The current situation could be described as, take your pick, 'rundown', 'abandoned', 'sad', 'mostly empty'. The escalator over in B is STILL broken, it's just embarrassing. Today Avelo announced they are leaving DAY, which is another big blow. No lounge to speak of, food choices are sparse. At least the security lines are non-existent to short. Parking rates have recently been raised which will only further hurt your business. As a 3.7 million miler I'm pulling for you but it's going to be an uphill battle with all that competition from CMH CVG IND.
Easy to get to right off I75. Long term parking only $5 per day. Usually able to get through ticket counters and TSA quickly. Downside not all airlines are available.
They get ya on a plane and outta there! The American Airlines crew was great under duress... Hugely appreciate their updates. Easiest airport in the world. Not the prettiest or anything, but smallest. Like flying out of a community college
Based on first impressions of the outside of the building. We were there on a Thursday evening to pick up a rental car. It was practically empty... While sitting out front, I saw two people and one other car.. inside, my husband saw one person inside. The airport and its parking areas mostly look nice. However, the lots around the property were unkempt.... overgrown weeds, building falling apart. Could definitely use some attention.
Every time I fly out of the Dayton airport I'm surprised it hasn't closed. It feels abandoned regardless of the time of day. It's great for getting through security - just walk right up and no one is in front of you. If you fly past 6pm, make sure you eat ahead of time. Every grab and go place was closed and the only restaurant open was Max and Erma's. Everything else was closed by 7. On a Thursday. There are much better airports to fly out of.
I lover this show, I have been so enthusiastic about this place that I enjoy every minute surrounded by many people with enthusiasm and children with dreams of pilots, dreams of being part of this great group of people who defend this great nation. come back every year to see more shows like this, in this great city.
