Description

In 2011, while unemployed and job hunting, James Smith noticed there was a large void in the furniture industry for affordable, quality, and real-wood furniture. So he bought a $40 skill saw, some stain, and wood and built a coffee table in his garage. He listed the coffee table online and although that first table didn't sell for a month, orders started flowing in for dining tables, benches, night stands, and more. It was obvious people wanted solid, attractive, real-wood furniture at an affordable price. Smith quickly partnered with college friend James Eldridge to help meet the growing demand and James+James was born.

James+James' handcrafted tables, bed, barn doors, living room furniture, and more are built by hand by a small team of local craftsmen at our shop in Arkansas. We also offer a collection of furniture that is responsibly sourced and hand-finished onsite. Additionally, we offer a curated selection of rugs, lighting, and decor from across the globe.

I wanted an heirloom quality table with chairs and counter chairs in Tuscany stain with Bailey turned legs and could not be more pleased with this ensemble. Now, all of my family can come and enjoy great meals and conversation. This table is quite large, solid and very heavy. It is all beautifully crafted and gorgeous! I wish there was a 10 star option to rate them! James + James customer service is courteous, prompt and very personable. Peyton kept me updated throughout the process. Highly recommend!
We paid several thousands of dollars for a dining set last October. It took this company about 8 months to finally deliver it. Within a few weeks the bench started rocking and I could see that some of the screws were stripping out of the leg brace. I tried to turn the bench over to get a closer look and the entire leg fell off along with the bottom crossbar snapping off. After emailing with their sales rep, she has told me that a replacement is not possible and that they will pay for a local handyman to repair it, but will not provide any replacement parts. I’ve tried explaining that this construction is too weak to repair and it needs more support and a new bottom brace because this one split, but she continues to insist that it can be repaired. I do not trust this company to actually pay a handyman or reimburse me for one. This is my main frustration with James+James, but additionally, the stain on the table does not match the chairs, which also does not match the bench. There are rough edges around parts of the table that snag on clothing and were not given a smooth and consistent sanding and topcoat. Finally, the communication for this supposed high-end furniture seller is also poor when it comes to updates and delays. Overall, my family and I are incredibly angry and disappointed. This was supposed to be a “legacy” that we could pass on for generations, like the website claims and now we’re out thousands of dollars for furniture we could have bought at Target. If I had known how poorly built this furniture is, I would have never considered buying anything from here. Read all the BBB reviews before purchasing. Do not waste your money.
We received our table recently and could not be happier with the quality and workmanship of this piece. The natural knots are so unique and beautiful. I love how earthy it makes our space feel. The color is exact to the sample piece we ordered. The delivery crew was equally amazing and did a great job keeping our table safe from any damage! I always worry about shipped furniture, but this company has a top notch packing & delivery system. It is definitely worth the wait. We received ours just at 4 mos from order date. The ONLY issue I have is lack of communication during the building process. I didn’t expect much but it would be nice to get a random update on what stage the table is in during the building process of it, however anytime we called to talk with someone they were very nice and also helpful. I’ll be back in the future to hopefully order more beautiful pieces. Our stain is Charred Ember and looks perfect with our farmhouse decor.
My table from James + James was delivered last week. It is the most gorgeous piece of furniture I have ever seen. It is so well made that it should last for generations. If you want extremely high-quality furniture reasonably priced James + James is the only place you need to look. I will add pictures, but they don't do it justice.
The delivery experience was top notch from start to finish. The furniture is gorgeous--the color and texture of the wood go perfectly with our lighter wood floors and the greyish wood pieces in the rest of the house. We are having fun finding accents for the table--place mats, centerpiece, and so on. The rustic quality is stunning and compliments our farmhouse decor just right. Thank you for the excellent customer service and for your team's patience with my many questions. I would highly recommend your company and this exquisite furniture to anyone.
In June 2023 I worked with Emilie from James and James to order a Live Edge Bed with a base to fit my Casper Adjustable Base. On Oct 4th my bed was delivered and set-up. The delivery person described it as a beautiful statement piece and I fully agree. The base fit perfectly around my existing adjustable base and the headboard is beautifully stained and finished allowing the details of the wood to show in the headboard. This is a well made bed that I'm looking forward to enjoying for years. A Big Thank You to the carpenters and Peyton for following up with me after I received my purchase.

We couldn’t be happier with the customer service, and craftsmanship of our dining table and bench, from James & James. Popular furniture stores advertise solid wood tables, but when you read the product description it’s a mix of veneers and low quality wood. It was worth the wait to get our custom table made by the expert carpenters from J&J. It is exactly as we desired!
I am absolutely in love with our new bed. The woodwork is stunning! And the quality is the best I’ve ever seen. Worth every penny. It is a bed we will have and love for MANY years to come!
Our new dining room table was delivered today after what seemed like a long time, as it took us quite a while to decide on a design and then it had to be fabricated. Well, it was worth the wait! The carpentry and tobacco finish is superb! The table is just beautiful… we especially like the unfilled knots on the alder wood tabletop, as it adds a distinctive, custom made quality to it. The extending leaf mechanism is easy to handle, open and close. Blue Truck’s ‘white glove’ delivery was top notch - the guys were careful, clean courteous, very strong, and came right on time! Ordering and customer service was exemplary as well - our rep Reace was so nice and very responsive via email as we made our selections from a variety of options. Thanks to all who had a hand in its making!
