Janesville Police Department

Janesville is lucky to have a good police department. I commend anyone who puts their life on the line to save others. If anyone dislikes the officers have them walk one day in an officers shoes to change their minds!

I am a self employed trucker recently moved to Janesville. I received a phone call from someone alleging to be LEO from a number that didn’t return as same. Individual was polite and professional. With what I deal in I have to be selective with what I answer. I haul many items. It ranges from DEA to ordinance to household cleaners. That’s hazmat. Officer understood I wasn’t going to identify over the phone without me having to say it. I called county dispatch. They verified it was a PD assigned mobile. With hazmat loads it’s a national security issue. Thank you for understanding trust but verify.

These cops are so eager to give people tickets but yet they feel comfortable enough driving down my residential street at 0200 with no headlights on shining their led spot lights in people's houses really awesome work you guys.

The Janesville police department violated my rights back in 2018, took 5 years to beat them in court. This whole department needs more training on the constitution

I have been having issues with harassment and they don’t even seem to want to help. They try brushing it off as something not serious. They sound annoyed on the phone when I asked a simple, genuine question.

Jump to worst case scenario and enforce guilty until proven innocent. Seem to lack compassion, sympathy and the ability to differentiate between a real criminal and a kid trying to do the right thing.

Got targeted tonight by an officer with no reason because it was after bar time

I show respect, I get it back. Never have had a bad experience .
