Great food. My plate was great I loved the steak with rice and beans. The meat was very juicy. I love your new cook person and your customer service was good as well. Quick service. Keep up the good work Jax Cafe
I found this place by accident yesterday and the food was insane. You HAVE to try to Seared Chilean Sea Bass and the yellowfin tuna nachos. The staff was amazing and very comfortable dining atmosphere. I heard they are under new management. As long as it continues to run the way it did during my visit I think all visitors would be pleasantly surprised. It's definitely going to be a go to spot when I'm in the area. And this is coming from a former Four Seasons Hotel Chef
I live near the area and had heard of this place in passing. It wasn't until the new owner as of may 2018 was walking around the neighborhood promoting his newly aquired restaurant, that I decided to try it out. I was floored by his commitment and passion. I figured anyone that cares enough to put forth that kind of effort must take their restaurant seriously. The negative reviews that I have read seem to not be relevant anymore. Every interaction I've had has been in English although they may be fluent in Spanish and the restaurant seems to be newly renovated and clean. So far I have had the Aji de gallina and the pesto spaghetti with chicken. Both plates were brilliant. Their prices are very good for what you're getting. I have had the Peruvian style pesto at several "high end" restaurants and none of them hit the mark. What I liked more than the food was the personal touch that this place offered. When you walk into this restaurant, you are remembered and appreciated. I for one am sick of being treated like a number by the retail/restaurant industry. Seemingly, while the rest of the world is moving towards automation and separation, this place is reminiscent of a "main street " type of restaurant. Don't worry though, they do offer wifi. Keep up the good work. See you soon.
This is the best place to go and have lunch .. the service is great and the food is amazing , I love the lomo saltado, the pollo saltado... I have tried lo menu and the beef friend rice .. the cook is amazing he knows his stuff , I’m so glad that this place is back in business let’s not talk about the empanadas are the Bomb : damm I love it thanx Jax carve for the great food and service !!! The new owners rock!!!
Ever since the new management took over at the beginning of May 2018, the food is better than ever and the customer service has greatly improved. Definitely some of the best restaurant food I've had. A definite 10 out of 10.
Nice place to wait for US 27 traffic to clear up. Not many places to get food or even hang out this far west. It's like Last Chance Gulch. Had one sandwich here and it was pretty good. Combination American-Cuban breakfast nook. Viva chorizo!
I heard that Jax was under new ownership/management again. I think they took over like 1 month ago. The new owners are so nice!! I ordered the chicken philly and it was very good. I will def be back for sure!
Jax Cafe is a breakfast and lunch counter cafe in the heart of a warehouse / industrial business area. It caters the the local businesses and students from the local high school across the street. The menu is most commonly a Latin Cafe style. Quick sandwiches and Cuban coffee are fast movers. That said. The food is good and their Midnight Medianoche sandwich is very tasty. I recommend the Jax Cafe for a quick bite - if you're in the area.
Spectacular food and really friendly service!! The burgers are amazing!! I would definitely recommend this place for a in and out!! Definitely give this place not a 5 star rating but a 10 instead!!
TBH I'm being nice here. This place, nice lil small place. Usually chilling for high school students. Even I have enjoyed this establishment in my high school years when I would come by for the breakfast. But since graduating, I have tried their lunch and it was foul. My stomach still feels wretched. First, the caucasian man or whatever man works their is rude. I one day wanted to order and I knew it was a wrong turn. When you call and have questions, you shouldn't get rude responses. I ordered two sandwiches, pulled pork sandwich and turkey, ham, and bacon sandwich. I swear the mayonnaise was just slathered and disgusting, the deli meat you'd find in a school cafeteria, and the pulled pork sandwich Online "kaiser roll with pulled pork and coleslaw" buy sandwich, No coleslaw and no kaiser roll. It just looked unruly.... didn't finish all of it and it made me vomit that day. To call and have questions when buying food is normal but the response. "Hi how long would it take the order to be ready" usually the response is, "ohh 5-10 minutes etc". I get told from the representative "well how long would it take you come by here and pick it up" who says that? And after my sickness, waited to call and ask what goes into the "pulled pork sandwich". Tasted just as bad coming back up as it did coming down. and the guy says "Ohh we no longer serve that sandwich for the longest"... THEN WHAT THE HELL DID I ORDER. I then said I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with fries -did not want a combo with drink, just fries but was charged for a drink- last week and He Then says quote for quote "ohh it's made at specific times". Which one is it? Is it discontinued or sometimes makes it which is it? And guy who I'm speaking to is rude and irresponsive. Speaking to him and finally says "Are you just going to ask questions or order a sandwich? "I finally had it, told him have a nice day thank you though. I mean that is just rudeness at its finest. I call one final attempt to speak to a manager and Such amazement, still the same rude gentleman i spoke with As HE IS THE MANAGER. I gave up, Wasn't looking for a refund because he didn't even give me a receipt, but a simple "I'm sorry our food gave you food poisoning" you'd think be kinder to its customers but no. In before when i was in high school, I remember a nice kind sweet lady who worked their making the best breakfast wrap/burritos, breakfast sandwiches, and Arizona tea can. If you get her, tip if you can, such a sweet kind lady Just so nice. But this rude gentleman, Just terrible. Food poisoning and rude over the phone conversation isn't what food dining should be about. So to each is own. Their are good reviews which I used to be able to back up and live on with agreement, " Oh yea jax's cafe super good food" but now; have lost respect and enjoyment for this once loved high school hangout spot for food. Shame really
