Jefferson Healthcare in Lees Summit

A few of the employees are rude. And a majority of them tell you what they think you want to hear instead of fixing the actual problem. They have an excuse for everything. The Internet and outlets barely work. And yet again the call lights are not working. my family and I are actively trying to remove my mother from this establishment. oh, and if you ever have the pleasure of talking to Dixie, be prepared to be hung up on.

Within the first month of living there, my mom developed a sacral sore, fell out of her bed and multiple UTIs. The current one, her urine was purple, dark brown and milky/chunky. Her foley was so full that the bag burst and her room was covered in urine for hours. When I called to complain and ask for the state number, I was hung up on, the employees refused to give their name,and I’m still waiting for the number. I ended up calling EMS myself and the staff didn’t even know that they had picked up my mother. At some point we are no longer able to care for our parents. We trusted this facility to help and care. It’s been a nightmare.

When a loved one first enters the facility, it seems like the greatest place to be. Residents are treated like humans, staff knows all the names and talks to each resident. BUT there is an hidden deceitful sneakiness about the place. When they know you are coming the loved one appears clean and well treated. Make a surprise visit and the truth is revealed, residents that are not able to care for themselves are sadly neglected. We found our loved one in filthy clothes, the bedding was crusted and smelling and the food he needed to eat was pushed out of his reach. We do not know how long he went without eating and being able to drink. His equipment has not been working correctly for a week, no one seems to be in a hurry to get his breathing machine fixed. When nursed thought they were alone with him, they were so uncaring and harsh. He has drainage that was allowed to collect and rot on his body, now he is fighting sever sores and skin loss in those areas. Not a good place for loved ones who can not take care if themselves.

My father was only in this facility for a short time but the care from the nurses and CNA's was ok. Food was always cold when it arrived in his room. The staff was very friendly just not enough of them to take care of all the patients. The Administration is another issue. The pressured my mother into making the monthly payment several days before it was due. My father was only in the facility for 14 days and we have been trying to get the rest of the money refunded to my mother for over 45 days now. We were told that we would have the money by Mid may and when we contact them for the refund they tell us it is in corporates hands. When we ask for the name of a contact at Corporate they would not provide that or a number so we can contact them directly. Ron the Administrator is very unprofessional and could use some customer service class on dealing with people. I would not take a family member to this location as long as the current administration "Ron" is in charge. All he seems to care about is getting your payment for the month and you wont hear or see him until it is time to pay up again the next month. If you are due a refund good luck getting it back as they will drag their feet as long as possible.

My mother went to Jefferson after a knee surgery. She loved having a private room and the view from the window was very nice. Her nurses were really good to her, very kind and helpful. The rehab team was amazing and my mother was able to go home earlier than the doctor thought she would. Great staff, great place.

I would Rate this place as a Zero. Went to visit a Family Member just last week and there was some sticky stuff on her floor so I had asked if they could mop the room. The C.N.A. went and got the mop and the smell from the water was so stagnant that I got an Instant Migraine and almost puked. I lived in Lee's Summit, MO. for quite some time and this is the last place I would recommend for anyone.

Went in to visit my grandfather and as soon as I walked in I was hit with a very strong smell of urine and feces. His call light was on for 20mins before anyone even came to check on him. When he asked if they could put a new liner in his toilet chair they wouldn't do it. I am very unhappy with this place.

I like to say a word of 2 Jefferson is wonderful well kept Care Facility...The Staff that i met are very kind and truly remarkable....I will recommend any family member to this facility'! Hollie B. Is One of Mostjt professional Staff I also met! I will be back

Constant staff changes. Some people are in wrong line of work. I do have several staff members I adore. Patients deserve better care from particular aides. Maybe it is a matter of more training...

The staff is so nice and the residents rave about the good care they receive!
