I see individuals of all ages from infants to senior citizens for psychotherapy and psychological evaluations. I have a "regular" office off Harrodsburg Road, but spend most of my time at my farm office where I sometimes use animals in therapy. I usually have a bunny, dog, or cat in my office or sometimes all three! During nice weather, we can take nature walks or sit on the front porch swing during therapy. I see a limited number of clients for equine assisted psychotherapy.
I appreciate the role that animals play in enriching many of our lives. More importantly, I appreciate how a loved pet can alleviate some of the symptoms of those with mental health disorders, allowing them to be more functional on a day to day basis. My clients are always welcome to bring their pets to therapy appointments or "borrow" one of mine. I also do emotional support animal evaluations. If I deem it appropriate and beneficial for the client to have an ESA, he would then be allowed to have that pet in his dwelling, even if animals are not otherwise allowed.
I have expertise in disorders such as autism spectrum, ADHD, depression, anxiety, and others. I enjoy working with adults and children going through separation/divorce issues, stressful life events, academic problems, etc, even without a diagnosable mental health disorder.
I am usually able to get new clients in withing a week or two for evaluations. I can usually see new clients within 24 hours for emergencies and withing 48 hours for urgent issues.
