Jeonjoo Korean Restaurant

Small and quaint mom and pop store. We came in at 1:30, so it was an off hour and the staff was all having their lunch. Felt a little bad, but they were very accommodating and didn’t make us feel out of place. Our server was having her meal but still checked on us periodically to make sure we had enough banchan refills and we felt well taken care of. Hubby and I each had a bowl of goat soup. We usually get something different and share… but their goat dish is their specialty! We didn’t do the bokkeum, which comes in a pan and is cooked on the table. It would’ve been a more fuller, complete meal, with fried rice at the end… but we weren’t overly hungry and I don’t eat rice anymore keto. Anyway, the soup was right on the money. Very, very good. The banchan was also very good - not overly flavorful, but just enough to be complementary to the meal, which is how it should be, and how we make it at home. Portions are on the smaller side, but I still had leftovers of my dish to take home, despite not having touched the rice bowl. Small portions of banchan is fine, since they’ll keep coming back to refill it for you. I was very pleased with the meal and plan on coming back to try their eel soup, which I’ve been told is also very good.

I visit here pretty often to enjoy Small Octopus dish. It can be spicy but it's one of my favorite because it contains lots of vegetables and they are very well seasoned. They make side dishes all by themselves and the ingredients they use are very fresh. Goat soup is also great and very healthy, gives you stamina. Highly recommened, authentic Korean Restaurant! The lady is very friendly to introduce us how to enjoy the goat meat stew. The portion is sufficient for two people. Would highly recommend it.

This is a pretty typical family style mom and pop’s place. No BBQ, just homemade meals. In Korea this is a dime a dozen around every corner. We normally visit the place down the road but it is closed today and we had to get some Korean fix, so here we are. The place is clean and similar to other Korean places, the cooking odor is pretty strong because of all of the spices and such so don’t wear anything you are not planning on washing after. The food quality and qty are ok, nothing impressive and nothing memorable, but it is good for family style restaurants. Most of the people coming through are long time patrons anyway. The prices are reasonable mostly for the area but only if know how much the same dish would cost back home, you wouldn’t feel the same. One thing I don’t like about this place is that they charge for the take home containers. Seriously, if they charge below market value I can understand that every dime and nickel matters to the bottom line, but they are not. The food in my photos cost me over $60, plus tip for two people. $1.00 for each take home container ? That is just wrong. So if you are going there, bring your own Tupperware if you think you will have left overs.

I can honestly say amazing authentic Korean prepared foods. But when I got to pay my bill the server harassed me for a higher tip than what I left based on my bill. Even followed me out of the restaurant after I paid. I have worked in private service as a personal chef for over 10 years and I would never do this.Food: 5/5

Terrible service. This is a restaurant that has impressed me with their insolent attitude. They forced us to pay for a 18% tip when we had a party of four we checked but this “rule” was not shown on the menu or anywhere in the restaurant. We were informed of the “mandatory 18% tip” only when we received the bill, which was written manually in only Korean and with no cash amount attached to each dish. It would be more respectful to include a English translation of the dish name when you know your customers are not Koreans. We would be happy to pay the mandatory 18% tip, since the food was great tbh. However, when we nicely asked the waiter why the 18% tip was already written on the bill for us, he answered, walked away for a minute, and then walked back to our table, confronted us with a cold voice “so what is the matter here. Were you not satisfied by the service”? That was a terrifying confrontation! I felt like I was threaten! This was so sad but I would never visit this restaurant again.
