This hospital needs a lot of help! The hospital is disgusting and so depressing! Its so dirty. The place needs remodeling bad. The nurses are extremely rude. My Dad had one wonderful nurse from the weekend shift and she kept us informed and stayed on top of things and treated my Dad wonderful! If it wasn’t for her we would have stayed in the dark not knowing anything. My Dad was ordered by the doctor Thursday morning his medication. He did not receive it until Friday night! We were told Thursday when we were leaving that his medication had just arrived from down stairs and assured us that he would get it soon after they finished what they were doing. Nope! He didn’t get it! The next day my mother got to the hospital questioning why he still hadn’t had his medication and they said let me check. My dads door was open and my mom heard them out there whispering about it! Yep you all screwed up! Thankfully the next day was Saturday and he finally got a wonderful nurse that apologized about everything. She got my Mom all the answers she needed from the doctors and even had the doctors come over on a Saturday to speak to my mom. Thank God we finally got him out of there. It is the worst hospital in Louisville that we have dealt with. I wish they would improve since UL took over! They need lots of improvement, its a hot mess there!
Friendly people and they keep you informed and up to date on things. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. I felt like I was in good hands while there.
Filthiest hospital !!! When I tell you going from ER to ICU room was a nasty mess plZ believe me. The floors looked as if they had not been cleaned in months . Trash on the floor from where the nurses dropped stuff to candy wrappers- it was disgusting. No way that room had been cleaned after the last patient was in there. Black sticker stuff all over the floor AND droplets of blood. I have a video. To bad it can’t be shared here. The patient care was a 5/10. Shame on U OF L
The doctors, nuses, medical assistants, haves been a pleasure to deal with. The only reason they didn't get getting a star is the case manager they drop the ball. As we was told they just have to find a place. We was just wanted our family remember closer to us then cross the start 3 hours away from her home and 2 hours away. from family
I would not want to repeat what the front desk staff said about themselves. The doctor or nurse that she was talking to laughed about what she said about her own self and it was scary. One nurse said she would get back to me, she did not. When I left after waiting two hours and no-one helped me for an attack of a laceration that went through fat and muscle that I have on video, I just saw hospital staff smoking outside. I went to another hospital and they helped me and they gave me service like they were being paid to give service.
If I could give them zero I would was forced to transfer to them by Owensboro Health for an infection in my hip replacement. Got zero carry of meds even though they were supposed to have everything sent to them since I was transferred by ambulance. I wasn’t even sent to the orthopedic floor of hospital I was in room 665. I was told I would have to wear a heart monitor if I took something for the pain even though I do not have any heart issues and had been on pain meds without one. I never saw a doctor till 11:30 and didn’t get any thing to drink until begging for it at 10 and no food till 2:30 and when they told me to order food the phone didn’t work. They told me to get on bed of X-rays even though my pain was so bad I had to be sedated at the hospital who transferred me to get a MRI done. This is a picture of my bed rail notice the rust on it. I am there for an infection in my hip joint. Also I had a fly buzzing around in my room. Glad they have such sanitary conditions. Since I got such poor care and I had not idea when I would see the orthopedic surgeon, his PA said maybe Tues this is Sat now, I left to go to Baptist Hospital if they can’t admit me I will go back home 2 hours away and try to contract my surgeon at that point. Also when I pointed these things out to the nurses I was told it was not their problem or nothing they could do about it or they were working hard to help me snd sorry the hospital didn’t live up to my expectations. I doubt it would live up to anyone’s and the things they could fix never got done. They are over worked and there is not enough staff on that floor for patient care another reason I left. I can see why they hospital is the worst ranked in Louisville. I was told this is where everyone in the state comes to get there messed up joints fixed, wrong Baptist does a good job I know I’ve been there.
My first visit at Jewish Hospital for surgery was as great as one can be. Friendliest Staff that I have encountered over the years. I knew that Dr. Williams was a wonderful doctor/surgeon, however, every staff member that I met was friendly and helpful. The Nurses and Doctors, male and female, were supportive and caring and made me feel comfortable and less nervous about my surgery. I am a picky person but I highly recommend Jewish Hospital!!
The ICU on the 4th floor was amazing. They had nurses who really cared. My dad got moved to the 5th floor and started choking. I yelled out the door for help and pushed the nurse call button and no one was in a rush to help my dad. Eric his nurse came after a minute and was looking for a suction to suction him out and it wasn’t even hooked up. He had no urgency in helping my father while I’m telling my dad stay with me Eric will eventually help you. Finally got him suctioned out but the color had already left my dads face and he was no longer coherent. I was told he would get pain meds every 10 minutes and after calling the nurse for more pain meds it ended up being 24 minutes. They made my dad suffer when the whole point was to make him comfortable.
On Wednesday I was witness to a scene unfolding in a room in ICU… a Father, four daughters, a sister, three surgeons and me. The spokesman for the surgical team was amazing. Even though the message he was delivering was the last thing anyone wanted to hear, he was informative and compassionate in assuring the family that their loved was not in any pain and that everything that could be done had been done but the out come was unchanged… machines were keeping Carolyn alive as her organs continued to fail. My faith in Family was restored as I watched four grown women reach through their own heartbreak to console their Dad and reassure him that they would all get through this somehow… the last vestige of hope having just been laid aside. The surgeon answered questions that came mostly from the Father as best he could - some questions just have no satisfactory answer. Their faith in GOD was on all their tongues as they tried to reconcile what was just told them with what they believed. Somewhere in the back of their minds their worst fear had come to pass …. the one constant in their lives was not going to make it… The Father somehow found the strength to thank the team for the monumental effort that they had made and the care that was given his wife.
I've had two recent visits to Jewish. While no one enjoys being there, I feel as if I was treated well. The entire staff on the third floor was nothing but courteous and kind for my week long stay. With that said, a few employees really stood out to my wife she stayed with me all the days and went home at night and I. They should be recognized for their outstanding efforts. This list would include Lan, Ana, Angela, Triniti and especially Dr. Sleen. It just seemed that these individuals went above and beyond while I was in their care. Thanks!
